The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.

The hearts of wise people lead them on the right path. But the hearts of foolish people take them down the wrong path.

A wise man’s heart inclines him to the right, but a fool’s heart to the left.

A wise person chooses the right road; a fool takes the wrong one.

A wise person’s heart goes to the right, but a fool’s heart to the left.

A wise person’s heart directs him toward the right, but the foolish person’s heart directs him toward the left.

A wise man’s heart is at his right hand, But a fool’s heart at his left.

A wise person’s good sense protects him, but a fool’s lack of sense leaves him vulnerable.

A fool also multiplies words. Man doesn’t know what will be; and that which will be after him, who can tell him?

He said,‘ This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.I will tell my soul,“ Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.”’“ But God said to him,‘ You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared— whose will they be?’

Why is there money in the hand of a fool to buy wisdom, since he has no understanding?

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?Or perhaps, when he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, everyone who sees begins to mock him,saying,‘ This man began to build, and wasn’t able to finish.’Or what king, as he goes to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an envoy, and asks for conditions of peace.

The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.

If the ax is blunt, and one doesn’t sharpen the edge, then he must use more strength; but skill brings success.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor plan, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where you are going.
