Wherefore now send and fetch him unto me, for he shall surely die.And Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said unto him, Wherefore should he be put to death? what hath he done?And Saul cast his spear at him to smite him; whereby Jonathan knew that it was determined of his father to put David to death.

But the chief priests took counsel that they might put Lazarus also to death;

For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines of Diana, brought no little business unto the craftsmen;whom he gathered together, with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this business we have our wealth.And ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they are no gods, that are made with hands:and not only is there danger that this our trade come into disrepute; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana be made of no account, and that she should even be deposed from her magnificence whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.And when they heard this they were filled with wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

Now when they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,and said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.But they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and rushed upon him with one accord;and they cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.And they stoned Stephen, calling upon the Lord, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
