All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing.

All things are tiresome. They are more tiresome than anyone can say. But our eyes never see enough of anything. Our ears never hear enough.

All things are full of weariness; a man cannot utter it; the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.

Everything is wearisome beyond description. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content.

Then I looked again at all the acts of oppression which were being done under the sun. And behold, I saw the tears of the oppressed and that they had no one to comfort them; and power was on the side of their oppressors, but they had no one to comfort them.So I congratulated the dead who are already dead, more than the living who are still living.But better off than both of them is the one who has never existed, who has never seen the evil activity that is done under the sun.I have seen that every labor and every skill which is done is the result of rivalry between a person and his neighbor. This too is futility and striving after wind.

One who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor one who loves abundance with its income. This too is futility.When good things increase, those who consume them increase. So what is the advantage to their owners except to look at them?

For to a person who is good in His sight, He has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, while to the sinner He has given the task of gathering and collecting so that he may give to one who is good in God’s sight. This too is futility and striving after wind.

“ Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.And not only that, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons and daughters, the redemption of our body.

So I considered all my activities which my hands had done and the labor which I had exerted, and behold, all was futility and striving after wind, and there was no benefit under the sun.

What has been is remote and very mysterious. Who can discover it?I directed my mind to know and to investigate, and to seek wisdom and an explanation, and to know the evil of foolishness and the foolishness of insanity.And I discovered as more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, whose hands are chains. One who is pleasing to God will escape from her, but the sinner will be captured by her.

The leech has two daughters:“ Give” and“ Give.” There are three things that will not be satisfied, Four that will not say,“ Enough”:Sheol, the infertile womb, Earth that is never satisfied with water, And fire that never says,“ Enough.”

My soul is satisfied as with fat and fatness, And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.
