他们必不再饿，也不再渴；太阳和一切炎热必不伤害他们。因为在宝座中间的羊羔必牧养他们，领他们到生命水的泉源那里。神也必抹去他们的一切眼泪。”

我又看见日光之下所发生一切欺压的事：受欺压的流泪，却无人安慰他们；欺压他们的，手里握着权柄，因此无人安慰受欺压的。我赞叹那已死的人，胜过那还活着的人。那还没生下来的，就是还没看过日光之下所行的恶事的，比这两种人更有福。我看见各样的劳碌和各样精巧的工作，都是出于人与人彼此的竞争。这也是虚空，也是捕风。

贪爱银子的，不因有银子满足；贪爱财富的，也不因得利知足。这也是虚空。财物增加，吃用的人也增加，物主除了眼看以外，还有什么益处呢？

神把智慧、知识和喜乐赐给他所喜悦的人，却使罪人作收集和积聚的差事，把所得的归给神所喜悦的人。这也是虚空，也是捕风。

爱慕公义如饥如渴的人有福了，因为他们必得饱足。

我们知道被造的万物直到现在都一同在痛苦呻吟。不但这样，连我们这些有圣灵作为初熟果子的人，自己也在内心叹息，热切期待成为嗣子，就是我们的身体得赎。

然后，我省察我手所作的一切，和我劳碌所成就的，想不到一切都是虚空，都是捕风，在日光之下毫无益处。

那离得远又极深奥的，谁能找到呢？我转念，一心去了解、考察并寻觅智慧和事理，又要知道愚蒙是邪恶的，狂妄是愚昧的。我发现一个比死亡更恶毒的妇人，她有如罗网，心如陷阱，手如锁链。蒙神喜悦的人得以摆脱她，罪人却被她缠住。

水蛭有两个女儿，常说：‘给我！给我！’不知足的东西有三样，连总不说‘够了’的共有四样，就是阴间、不能生育的妇人、水源不足之地和总不说‘够了’的火。

我的心满足，就像饱享了骨髓肥油；我要用欢乐的嘴唇赞美你。
