Speak not thou in thy heart, after that Jehovah thy God hath thrust them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness Jehovah hath brought me in to possess this land; whereas for the wickedness of these nations Jehovah doth drive them out from before thee.

“耶和华你的神将这些国民从你面前撵出以后，你心里不可说：‘耶和华将我领进来得这地是因我的义。’其实，耶和华将他们从你面前赶出去是因他们的恶。

“耶和华—你的上帝将他们从你面前赶出以后，你心里不可说：‘耶和华领我得这地是因我的义。’其实，耶和华将这些国家从你面前赶出去是因他们的恶。

“你们的上帝耶和华赶走他们以后，你们不要以为耶和华带领你们占领那片土地是因为你们公义，其实是因为那里的民族邪恶，耶和华才将他们从你们面前赶走。

『永恆主你的上帝把這些國的人從你面前攆出以後、你心裏不可說：「永恆主將我領進來、取得這地、是因我的美德」；其實乃是因這些國的人的惡、永恆主才把他們從你面前趕出去呢。

爾上帝耶和華既驅逐之、爾勿意謂因我有義、故耶和華導我入據斯土、實因斯族之惡、而驅逐之、

既驅之後、爾勿意謂我儕有義、故耶和華使得斯土、實因斯民行惡、故耶和華驅於爾前。

主爾之天主、既逐之於爾前、爾勿意謂主導我得斯地乃因我善、實因斯民之惡、主逐之於爾前、

After the Lord your God has driven them out before you, do not say to yourself,“ The Lord has brought me here to take possession of this land because of my righteousness.” No, it is on account of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is going to drive them out before you.

The Lord your God will drive them out to make room for you. When he does, don’t say to yourself,“ The Lord has done it because I am godly. That’s why he brought me here to take over this land.” That isn’t true. The Lord is going to drive out those nations to make room for you because they are very evil.

“ Do not say in your heart, after the Lord your God has thrust them out before you,‘ It is because of my righteousness that the Lord has brought me in to possess this land,’ whereas it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out before you.

“ After the Lord your God has done this for you, don’t say in your hearts,‘ The Lord has given us this land because we are such good people!’ No, it is because of the wickedness of the other nations that he is pushing them out of your way.

When the LORD your God drives them out before you, do not say to yourself,‘ The LORD brought me in to take possession of this land because of my righteousness.’ Instead, the LORD will drive out these nations before you because of their wickedness.

“ Do not say in your heart when the Lord your God has driven them away from you,‘ Because of my righteousness the Lord has brought me in to take possession of this land.’ Rather, it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is dispossessing them before you.

“ Do not think in your heart, after the Lord your God has cast them out before you, saying,‘ Because of my righteousness the Lord has brought me in to possess this land’; but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out from before you.

When the Lord your God drives them out before you, do not say to yourself,‘ The Lord brought me in to take possession of this land because of my righteousness.’ Instead, the Lord will drive out these nations before you because of their wickedness.

Do not think to yourself after the LORD your God has driven them out before you,“ Because of my own righteousness the LORD has brought me here to possess this land.” It is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out ahead of you.

Don’t say in your heart, after Yahweh your God has thrust them out from before you,“ For my righteousness Yahweh has brought me in to possess this land;” because Yahweh drives them out before you because of the wickedness of these nations.

and lest thou say in thy heart, My power and the might of my hand hath gotten me this wealth.

When thou art come into the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.There shall not be found with thee any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one that useth divination, one that practiseth augury, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer.For whosoever doeth these things is an abomination unto Jehovah: and because of these abominations Jehovah thy God doth drive them out from before thee.Thou shalt be perfect with Jehovah thy God.For these nations, that thou shalt dispossess, hearken unto them that practise augury, and unto diviners; but as for thee, Jehovah thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out from before you;And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land vomiteth out her inhabitants.Ye therefore shall keep my statutes and mine ordinances, and shall not do any of these abominations; neither the home- born, nor the stranger that sojourneth among you( for all these abominations have the men of the land done, that were before you, and the land is defiled);that the land vomit not you out also, when ye defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.For whosoever shall do any of these abominations, even the souls that do them shall be cut off from among their people.Therefore shall ye keep my charge, that ye practise not any of these abominable customs, which were practised before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am Jehovah your God.

Jehovah did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all peoples:but because Jehovah loveth you, and because he would keep the oath which he sware unto your fathers, hath Jehovah brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

Thou shalt not do so unto Jehovah thy God: for every abomination to Jehovah, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters do they burn in the fire to their gods.

Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thy heart, dost thou go in to possess their land; but for the wickedness of these nations Jehovah thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may establish the word which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

For I know nothing against myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

But if it is by grace, it is no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace.

For we also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.But when the kindness of God our Saviour, and his love toward man, appeared,not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before times eternal,

Nor for your sake do I this, saith the Lord Jehovah, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.

And in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet full.

but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ( by grace have ye been saved),

For who maketh thee to differ? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? but if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory as if thou hadst not received it?

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I do not this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for my holy name, which ye have profaned among the nations, whither ye went.

Well; by their unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by thy faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
