Go and gather the elders of Israel together, and tell them,‘ Yahweh, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying,“ I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt.

The Righteous One considers the house of the wicked, and brings the wicked to ruin.

It shall be, when Yahweh brings you into the land of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which he swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall keep this service in this month.

You have bought me no sweet cane with money, nor have you filled me with the fat of your sacrifices, but you have burdened me with your sins. You have wearied me with your iniquities.I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake; and I will not remember your sins.

I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty; but by my name Yahweh I was not known to them.I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their travels, in which they lived as aliens.Moreover I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered my covenant.Therefore tell the children of Israel,‘ I am Yahweh, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments.I will take you to myself for a people. I will be your God; and you shall know that I am Yahweh your God, who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it to you for a heritage: I am Yahweh.’”

and might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that didn’t make their hearts loyal, whose spirit was not steadfast with God.

Moreover he said,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.

Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said to them,‘ I will multiply your offspring as the stars of the sky, and all this land that I have spoken of I will give to your offspring, and they shall inherit it forever.’”

Please don’t let my lord pay attention to this worthless fellow, Nabal; for as his name is, so is he. Nabal is his name, and folly is with him; but I, your servant, didn’t see my lord’s young men, whom you sent.

Do not abhor us, for your name’s sake. Do not disgrace the throne of your glory. Remember, and don’t break your covenant with us.

Moses returned to Yahweh, and said,“ Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made themselves gods of gold.Yet now, if you will, forgive their sin— and if not, please blot me out of your book which you have written.”

Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity, and passes over the disobedience of the remnant of his heritage? He doesn’t retain his anger forever, because he delights in loving kindness.He will again have compassion on us. He will tread our iniquities under foot; and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

In those days, and in that time,” says Yahweh,“ the iniquity of Israel will be sought for, and there will be none; also the sins of Judah, and they won’t be found; for I will pardon them whom I leave as a remnant.
