The Righteous One considers the house of the wicked; he overthrows the wicked to their ruin.

When the LORD brings you to the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which he swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, then you will keep this ceremony in this month.

You did not buy me aromatic reeds; you did not present to me the fat of your sacrifices. Yet you burdened me with your sins; you made me weary with your evil deeds.I, I am the one who blots out your rebellious deeds for my sake; your sins I do not remember.

I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name‘ the LORD’ I was not known to them.I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they were living as resident foreigners.I have also heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.Therefore, tell the Israelites,‘ I am the LORD. I will bring you out from your enslavement to the Egyptians, I will rescue you from the hard labor they impose, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.I will take you to myself for a people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from your enslavement to the Egyptians.I will bring you to the land I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob– and I will give it to you as a possession. I am the LORD!’”

Then they will not be like their ancestors, who were a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that was not committed and faithful to God.

He added,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.

Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel your servants, to whom you swore by yourself and told them,‘ I will multiply your descendants like the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken about I will give to your descendants, and they will inherit it forever.’”

My lord should not pay attention to this wicked man Nabal. He simply lives up to his name! His name means‘ fool,’ and he is indeed foolish! But I, your servant, did not see the servants my lord sent.

For the honor of your name, do not treat Jerusalem with contempt. Do not treat with disdain the place where your glorious throne sits. Be mindful of your covenant with us. Do not break it!

So Moses returned to the LORD and said,“ Alas, this people has committed a very serious sin, and they have made for themselves gods of gold.But now, if you will forgive their sin…, but if not, wipe me out from your book that you have written.”

There is no other God like you! You forgive sin and pardon the rebellion of those who remain among your people. You do not remain angry forever, but delight in showing loyal love.You will once again have mercy on us; you will conquer our evil deeds; you will hurl our sins into the depths of the sea.

When that time comes, no guilt will be found in Israel. No sin will be found in Judah. For I will forgive those of them I have allowed to survive. I, the LORD, affirm it!’”
