And when Jehovah sent you from Kadesh- barnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the commandment of Jehovah your God, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice.

And when the Lord sent you out from Kadesh Barnea, he said,“ Go up and take possession of the land I have given you.” But you rebelled against the command of the Lord your God. You did not trust him or obey him.

The Lord sent you out from Kadesh Barnea. He said,“ Go up and take over the land I have given you.” But you refused to do what the Lord your God had commanded you to do. You didn’t trust him or obey him.

And when the Lord sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying,‘ Go up and take possession of the land that I have given you,’ then you rebelled against the commandment of the Lord your God and did not believe him or obey his voice.

And at Kadesh barnea the Lord sent you out with this command:‘ Go up and take over the land I have given you.’ But you rebelled against the command of the Lord your God and refused to put your trust in him or obey him.

When the LORD sent you from Kadesh-barnea, he said,‘ Go up and possess the land I have given you’; you rebelled against the command of the LORD your God. You did not believe or obey him.

And when the Lord sent you from Kadesh barnea, saying,‘ Go up and take possession of the land which I have given you,’ you rebelled against the command of the Lord your God; you neither trusted Him nor listened to His voice.

Likewise, when the Lord sent you from Kadesh Barnea, saying,‘ Go up and possess the land which I have given you,’ then you rebelled against the commandment of the Lord your God, and you did not believe Him nor obey His voice.

When the Lord sent you from Kadesh-barnea, He said,‘ Go up and possess the land I have given you’; you rebelled against the command of the Lord your God. You did not believe or obey Him.

Likewise when the LORD sent you from Kadeshbarnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice.

And when he sent you from Kadesh-Barnea and told you,“ Go up and possess the land I have given you,” you rebelled against the LORD your God and would neither believe nor obey him.

When Yahweh sent you from Kadesh Barnea, saying,“ Go up and possess the land which I have given you,” you rebelled against the commandment of Yahweh your God, and you didn’t believe him or listen to his voice.

Yea, they despised the pleasant land, They believed not his word,But murmured in their tents, And hearkened not unto the voice of Jehovah.

For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because it was not united by faith with them that heard.

But they rebelled, and grieved his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them.

Because they believed not in God, And trusted not in his salvation.

And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,Send thou men, that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a prince among them.And Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran according to the commandment of Jehovah: all of them men who were heads of the children of Israel.And these were their names: Of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur.Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori.Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph.Of the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Nun.Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu.Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi.Of the tribe of Joseph, namely, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi.Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli.Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael.Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi.Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi.These are the names of the men that Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun Joshua.And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way by the South, and go up into the hill- country:and see the land, what it is; and the people that dwell therein, whether they are strong or weak, whether they are few or many;and what the land is that they dwell in, whether it is good or bad; and what cities they are that they dwell in, whether in camps, or in strongholds;and what the land is, whether it is fat or lean, whether there is wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the first- ripe grapes.So they went up, and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, to the entrance of Hamath.And they went up by the South, and came unto Hebron; and Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were there.( Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)And they came unto the valley of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it upon a staff between two; they brought also of the pomegranates, and of the figs.That place was called the valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster which the children of Israel cut down from thence.And they returned from spying out the land at the end of forty days.And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us; and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.Howbeit the people that dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.Amalek dwelleth in the land of the South: and the Hittite, and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, dwell in the hill- country; and the Canaanite dwelleth by the sea, and along by the side of the Jordan.And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.But the men that went up with him said, We are not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had spied out unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of great stature.And there we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, who come of the Nephilim: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would that we had died in this wilderness!And wherefore doth Jehovah bring us unto this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be a prey: were it not better for us to return into Egypt?And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

And we journeyed from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which ye saw, by the way to the hill- country of the Amorites, as Jehovah our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh- barnea.And I said unto you, Ye are come unto the hill- country of the Amorites, which Jehovah our God giveth unto us.Behold, Jehovah thy God hath set the land before thee: go up, take possession, as Jehovah, the God of thy fathers, hath spoken unto thee; fear not, neither be dismayed.And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, Let us send men before us, that they may search the land for us, and bring us word again of the way by which we must go up, and the cities unto which we shall come.And the thing pleased me well; and I took twelve men of you, one man for every tribe:and they turned and went up into the hill- country, and came unto the valley of Eshcol, and spied it out.And they took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down unto us, and brought us word again, and said, It is a good land which Jehovah our God giveth unto us.Yet ye would not go up, but rebelled against the commandment of Jehovah your God:and ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because Jehovah hated us, he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.Whither are we going up? our brethren have made our heart to melt, saying, The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them.Jehovah your God who goeth before you, he will fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes,and in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that Jehovah thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came unto this place.Yet in this thing ye did not believe Jehovah your God,who went before you in the way, to seek you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to show you by what way ye should go, and in the cloud by day.

But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of Jehovah appeared in the tent of meeting unto all the children of Israel.And Jehovah said unto Moses, How long will this people despise me? and how long will they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have wrought among them?I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a nation greater and mightier than they.And Moses said unto Jehovah, Then the Egyptians will hear it; for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;and they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that thou Jehovah art in the midst of this people; for thou Jehovah art seen face to face, and thy cloud standeth over them, and thou goest before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night.Now if thou shalt kill this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,Because Jehovah was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.And now, I pray thee, let the power of the Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying,Jehovah is slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving iniquity and transgression; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation.Pardon, I pray thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy lovingkindness, and according as thou hast forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.And Jehovah said, I have pardoned according to thy word:but in very deed, as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of Jehovah;because all those men that have seen my glory, and my signs, which I wrought in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tempted me these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that despised me see it:but my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.Now the Amalekite and the Canaanite dwell in the valley: to- morrow turn ye, and get you into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea.And Jehovah spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, that murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.Say unto them, As I live, saith Jehovah, surely as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, that have murmured against me,surely ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware that I would make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.But your little ones, that ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have rejected.But as for you, your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness.And your children shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your whoredoms, until your dead bodies be consumed in the wilderness.After the number of the days in which ye spied out the land, even forty days, for every day a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my alienation.I, Jehovah, have spoken, surely this will I do unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.And the men, whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up an evil report against the land,even those men that did bring up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before Jehovah.But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, remained alive of those men that went to spy out the land.And Moses told these words unto all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up to the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we are here, and will go up unto the place which Jehovah hath promised: for we have sinned.And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of Jehovah, seeing it shall not prosper?

And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that were disobedient?And we see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief.
