I feared the anger and wrath of the Lord, for he was angry enough with you to destroy you. But again the Lord listened to me.

I was afraid of the Lord’ s great anger. He was so angry with you he wanted to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me again.

那时，我有一个兄弟哈拿尼，同几个人从犹大来。我问他们那些被掳归回、剩下残存的犹太人和耶路撒冷的情况。他们对我说：“那些被掳归回剩下的余民在犹大省那里遭大难，受凌辱；耶路撒冷的城墙被拆毁，城门被火焚烧。”我听见这话，就坐下哭泣，悲哀几日，在天上的上帝面前禁食祈祷，说：“唉，耶和华—天上大而可畏的上帝，向爱你、守你诫命的人守约施慈爱的上帝啊，愿你睁眼看，侧耳听你仆人今日昼夜在你面前，为你众仆人以色列人的祈祷，承认我们以色列人向你所犯的罪；我与我父家都犯了罪。我们向你所行的非常败坏，没有遵守你吩咐你仆人摩西的诫命、律例、典章。

我就说：“主耶和华啊，求你止息；因为雅各弱小，他怎能站立得住呢？”耶和华对这事改变心意，主耶和华说：“这灾也可免了。”

“我的朋友，我对你们说，那最多只能杀人身体而不能再做什么的，不要怕他们。我提醒你们该怕的是谁：该怕那杀了以后又有权柄把人扔在地狱里的。是的，我告诉你们，正要怕他。

因此，他说要灭绝他们；若非他所拣选的摩西在他面前站在破裂之处，使他的愤怒转消，恐怕他就灭绝他们了。

你们在何烈山惹耶和华发怒，耶和华对你们动怒，甚至要除灭你们。
