I feared the anger and wrath of the Lord, for he was angry enough with you to destroy you. But again the Lord listened to me.

I was afraid of the Lord’ s great anger. He was so angry with you he wanted to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me again.

For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure that the Lord bore against you, so that he was ready to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me that time also.

I feared that the furious anger of the Lord, which turned him against you, would drive him to destroy you. But again he listened to me.

所以你們要彼此認罪，互相代求，使你們可以得醫治。義人祈禱所發的力量是大有功效的。以利亞與我們是一樣性情的人，他懇切禱告，求不要下雨，雨就三年零六個月不下在地上。

你且由着我，我要向他們發烈怒，將他們滅絕，使你的後裔成為大國。」摩西便懇求耶和華－他的神說：「耶和華啊，你為甚麼向你的百姓發烈怒呢？這百姓是你用大力和大能的手從埃及地領出來的。

在他的祭司中有摩西和亞倫；在求告他名的人中有撒母耳。他們求告耶和華，他就應允他們。

耶和華對摩西說：「你這所求的我也要行；因為你在我眼前蒙了恩，並且我按你的名認識你。」

蝗蟲吃盡那地的青物，我就說：「主耶和華啊，求你赦免；因為雅各微弱，他怎能站立得住呢？」耶和華就後悔說：「這災可以免了。」

那時，有我一個弟兄哈拿尼，同着幾個人從猶大來。我問他們那些被擄歸回、剩下逃脫的猶大人和耶路撒冷的光景。他們對我說：「那些被擄歸回剩下的人在猶大省遭大難，受凌辱；並且耶路撒冷的城牆拆毀，城門被火焚燒。」我聽見這話，就坐下哭泣，悲哀幾日，在天上的神面前禁食祈禱，說：「耶和華－天上的神，大而可畏的神啊，你向愛你、守你誡命的人守約施慈愛。願你睜眼看，側耳聽，你僕人晝夜在你面前為你眾僕人以色列民的祈禱，承認我們以色列人向你所犯的罪；我與我父家都有罪了。我們向你所行的甚是邪惡，沒有遵守你藉着僕人摩西所吩咐的誡命、律例、典章。

我就說：「主耶和華啊，求你止息；因為雅各微弱，他怎能站立得住呢？」耶和華就後悔說：「這災也可免了。」

「我的朋友，我對你們說，那殺身體以後不能再做甚麼的，不要怕他們。我要指示你們當怕的是誰：當怕那殺了以後又有權柄丟在地獄裏的。我實在告訴你們，正要怕他。

所以，他說要滅絕他們；若非有他所揀選的摩西站在當中，使他的忿怒轉消，恐怕他就滅絕他們。

你們在何烈山又惹耶和華發怒；他惱怒你們，要滅絕你們。
