I feared the anger and wrath of the Lord, for he was angry enough with you to destroy you. But again the Lord listened to me.

I was afraid of the Lord’ s great anger. He was so angry with you he wanted to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me again.

For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure that the Lord bore against you, so that he was ready to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me that time also.

现在，你且由得我，让我向他们发烈怒，把他们消灭；我要使你成为大国。”摩西就恳求耶和华他的神施恩，说：“耶和华啊，你为什么向你的人民发烈怒呢？这人民是你用大能和全能的手从埃及地领出来的。

在他的祭司中有摩西和亚伦，在求告他名的人中有撒母耳；他们求告耶和华，他就应允他们。

耶和华对摩西说：“你所说的这件事我也要作，因为你在我眼前蒙恩，并且我按着你的名字认识了你。”

蝗虫吃尽地上的农产时，我说：“主耶和华啊！求你宽恕，因雅各太弱小，怎能站立得住呢？”耶和华对这事改变心意，耶和华说：“这事不会发生。”

我的一位兄弟哈拿尼和几个人一起从犹大来到；我询问他们关于那些从被掳逃脱的犹大余民和关于耶路撒冷的景况。他们对我说：“那些从被掳剩下的余民，在犹大省那里遭遇大患难，受到凌辱。耶路撒冷的城墙倒塌，城门也被火烧毁。”我听见了这些事，就坐下哭泣，悲伤了好几天，在天上的神面前禁食祷告，说：“耶和华天上的神，伟大可畏的神啊，你向那些爱你，遵守你诫命的人，守约施慈爱。求你侧着耳，睁着眼的，垂听你仆人的祷告，我今天在你面前昼夜为着你的仆人以色列人祷告，承认以色列人所犯的罪，就是我与我父的家向你所犯的罪。我们故意行极大的恶事得罪你，没有遵守你吩咐你仆人摩西的诫命、律例和典章。

因此我对主耶和华说：“求你停止吧！因雅各太弱小，怎能站立得住呢？”耶和华对这事改变心意。主耶和华说：“这事也不会发生。”

“我的朋友，我告诉你们，那杀身体以后不能再作什么的，不要怕他们。我要指示你们当怕的是谁：当怕那杀身体以后，有权把人投入地狱里的；我告诉你们，应当怕他。

所以他说要灭绝他们，不是有他拣选的摩西，在他面前站在破口上，使他的怒气转消，恐怕他早已毁灭他们了。

你们在何烈山又惹耶和华发怒，以致耶和华向你们发怒，要灭绝你们。
