Do not try to stop me. I am going to destroy them. I will wipe them out from the earth. Then I will make you into a great nation. Your people will be stronger than they were. There will be more of you than there were of them.”

The Lord will not be willing to forgive him, but rather the anger of the Lord and his jealousy will smoke against that man, and the curses written in this book will settle upon him, and the Lord will blot out his name from under heaven.

You have rebuked the nations; you have made the wicked perish; you have blotted out their name forever and ever.

Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume them, in order that I may make a great nation of you.”But Moses implored the Lord his God and said,“ O Lord, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?Why should the Egyptians say,‘ With evil intent did he bring them out, to kill them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth’? May his posterity be cut off; may his name be blotted out in the second generation!

The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.

Then the Lord said to me,“ Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my heart would not turn toward this people. Send them out of my sight, and let them go!

On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the Lord in remembrance, take no rest,and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth.

And the Lord said to Moses,“ How long will this people despise me? And how long will they not believe in me, in spite of all the signs that I have done among them?I will strike them with the pestilence and disinherit them, and I will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.”

And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.He said,“ In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man.And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying,‘ Give me justice against my adversary.’For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself,‘ Though I neither fear God nor respect man,yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’”And the Lord said,“ Hear what the unrighteous judge says.And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them?I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
