耶和華必不饒恕他；耶和華的怒氣與憤恨要向他發作，如煙冒出，將這書上所寫的一切咒詛都加在他身上。耶和華又要從天下塗抹他的名，

你曾斥責外邦，你曾滅絕惡人；你曾塗抹他們的名，直到永永遠遠。

你且由着我，我要向他們發烈怒，將他們滅絕，使你的後裔成為大國。」摩西便懇求耶和華－他的神說：「耶和華啊，你為甚麼向你的百姓發烈怒呢？這百姓是你用大力和大能的手從埃及地領出來的。為甚麼使埃及人議論說『他領他們出去，是要降禍與他們，把他們殺在山中，將他們從地上除滅』？求你轉意，不發你的烈怒，後悔，不降禍與你的百姓。求你記念你的僕人亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列。你曾指着自己起誓說：『我必使你們的後裔像天上的星那樣多，並且我所應許的這全地，必給你們的後裔，他們要永遠承受為業。』」

願他的後人斷絕，名字被塗抹，不傳於下代！

義人的紀念被稱讚；惡人的名字必朽爛。

耶和華對我說：「雖有摩西和撒母耳站在我面前代求，我的心也不顧惜這百姓。你將他們從我眼前趕出，叫他們去吧！

那人在裏面回答說：『不要攪擾我，門已經關閉，孩子們也同我在牀上了，我不能起來給你。』我告訴你們，雖不因他是朋友起來給他，但因他情詞迫切地直求，就必起來照他所需用的給他。我又告訴你們，你們祈求，就給你們；尋找，就尋見；叩門，就給你們開門。因為，凡祈求的，就得着；尋找的，就尋見；叩門的，就給他開門。

凡得勝的必這樣穿白衣，我也必不從生命冊上塗抹他的名；且要在我父面前，和我父眾使者面前，認他的名。

「你們這硬着頸項、心與耳未受割禮的人，常時抗拒聖靈！你們的祖宗怎樣，你們也怎樣。

倘或你肯赦免他們的罪......不然，求你從你所寫的冊上塗抹我的名。」耶和華對摩西說：「誰得罪我，我就從我的冊上塗抹誰的名。

耶和華又對我說：「不要為這百姓祈禱求好處。

耶路撒冷啊，我在你城上設立守望的，他們晝夜必不靜默。呼籲耶和華的，你們不要歇息，也不要使他歇息，直等他建立耶路撒冷，使耶路撒冷在地上成為可讚美的。

耶和華對摩西說：「這百姓藐視我要到幾時呢？我在他們中間行了這一切神蹟，他們還不信我要到幾時呢？我要用瘟疫擊殺他們，使他們不得承受那地，叫你的後裔成為大國，比他們強勝。」

耶穌設一個比喻，是要人常常禱告，不可灰心。說：「某城裏有一個官，不懼怕神，也不尊重世人。那城裏有個寡婦，常到他那裏，說：『我有一個對頭，求你給我伸冤。』他多日不准，後來心裏說：『我雖不懼怕神，也不尊重世人，只因這寡婦煩擾我，我就給她伸冤吧，免得她常來纏磨我！』」主說：「你們聽這不義之官所說的話。神的選民晝夜呼籲他，他縱然為他們忍了多時，豈不終久給他們伸冤嗎？我告訴你們，要快快地給他們伸冤了。然而，人子來的時候，遇得見世上有信德嗎？」
