記念義人帶來祝福，惡人的名卻必朽爛。

那個人從裡面回答說：『請不要煩擾我。門已經關上了，我與孩子們也已經上了床，不能起來拿給你。』我告訴你們：即使不因著是朋友而起來拿給他，還是會因著他毫無羞愧地求，就起來把他所要的拿給他。「我還告訴你們：不斷祈求吧，就會給你們；不斷尋找吧，就會找到；不斷敲門吧，就會為你們開門。因為凡祈求的，就得到；尋找的，就找到；敲門的，就為他開門。

那得勝的，將要同樣穿上白衣，我絕不從生命冊上抹去他的名字；而且我將要在我父面前、在我父的眾天使面前，承認他的名字。

「你們這些頑固不化、心和耳都未受割禮的人哪，你們總是抗拒聖靈！你們的祖先怎樣，你們也怎樣。

耶路撒冷啊！我在你城牆上指派了守望的，他們整日整夜一直不靜默。記念耶和華的啊！你們不要靜息，也不要讓他靜息，直到他堅立耶路撒冷，使耶路撒冷在地上成為受人讚美的。

耶穌對他們講了一個比喻，說他們必須常常禱告，不要喪膽。他說：「某城裡有一個審判官，他既不敬畏神，也不尊重人。那城裡有一個寡婦，經常到他那裡去，說：『請為我向我的對頭討個公道。』「法官一直不肯，但是後來心裡說：『即使我不敬畏神，也不尊重人，還是因為這寡婦不斷地煩擾我，我就為她討個公道，免得她一直來，到最後使我疲憊不堪！』」主接著說：「你們當聽這個不公義的審判官所說的！難道神絕不會給那些他所揀選、日夜向他呼求的人主持公道嗎？難道神會耽誤幫助他們嗎？我告訴你們：他會很快地給他們主持公道。不過人子回來的時候，難道在地上能找到這樣的信仰嗎？」
