The LORD will not be willing to forgive him. Instead, his anger and jealousy will burn against that person, and every curse written in this scroll will descend on him. The LORD will blot out his name under heaven,

You have rebuked the nations: You have destroyed the wicked; you have erased their name forever and ever.

Now leave me alone, so that my anger can burn against them and I can destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.”But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God:“ LORD, why does your anger burn against your people you brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and a strong hand?Why should the Egyptians say,‘ He brought them out with an evil intent to kill them in the mountains and eliminate them from the face of the earth’? Turn from your fierce anger and relent concerning this disaster planned for your people.Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Israel— you swore to them by yourself and declared,‘ I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky and will give your offspring all this land that I have promised, and they will inherit it forever.’”

Let the line of his descendants be cut off; let their name be blotted out in the next generation.

The remembrance of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.

Then the LORD said to me,“ Even if Moses and Samuel should stand before me, my compassions would not reach out to these people. Send them from my presence, and let them go.

Then he will answer from inside and say,‘ Don’t bother me! The door is already locked, and my children and I have gone to bed. I can’t get up to give you anything.’I tell you, even though he won’t get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his friend’s shameless boldness, he will get up and give him as much as he needs.“ So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

“ In the same way, the one who conquers will be dressed in white clothes, and I will never erase his name from the book of life but will acknowledge his name before my Father and before his angels.

“ You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit. As your ancestors did, you do also.

Now if you would only forgive their sin. But if not, please erase me from the book you have written.”The LORD replied to Moses,“ Whoever has sinned against me I will erase from my book.

Then the LORD said to me,“ Do not pray for the well-being of these people.

Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen on your walls; they will never be silent, day or night. There is no rest for you, who remind the LORD.Do not give him rest until he establishes and makes Jerusalem the praise of the earth.

The LORD said to Moses,“ How long will these people despise me? How long will they not trust in me despite all the signs I have performed among them?I will strike them with a plague and destroy them. Then I will make you into a greater and mightier nation than they are.”

Now he told them a parable on the need for them to pray always and not give up.“ There was a judge in a certain town who didn’t fear God or respect people.And a widow in that town kept coming to him, saying,‘ Give me justice against my adversary.’“ For a while he was unwilling, but later he said to himself,‘ Even though I don’t fear God or respect people,yet because this widow keeps pestering me, I will give her justice, so that she doesn’t wear me out by her persistent coming.’”Then the Lord said,“ Listen to what the unjust judge says.Will not God grant justice to his elect who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay helping them?I tell you that he will swiftly grant them justice. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
