以色列族、尚其聽之、今日爾渡約但、有較爾強大之民、其城垣廣大、高可參天、爾將得之。

以色列人當聽、爾今日將渡約但、欲往得國、居民較爾強大、城垣廣大鞏固、崇高接天、

Hear, Israel: You are now about to cross the Jordan to go in and dispossess nations greater and stronger than you, with large cities that have walls up to the sky.

Israel, listen to me. You are now about to go across the Jordan River. You will take over the land of the nations that live there. Those nations are greater and stronger than you are. Their large cities have walls that reach up to the sky.

“ Listen, O Israel! Today you are about to cross the Jordan River to take over the land belonging to nations much greater and more powerful than you. They live in cities with walls that reach to the sky!

“ Listen, Israel: Today you are about to cross the Jordan to enter and drive out nations greater and stronger than you, with large cities fortified to the heavens.

“ Hear, Israel! You are crossing the Jordan today, to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than you, cities that are great and fortified to heaven,

“ Hear, O Israel: You are to cross over the Jordan today, and go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fortified up to heaven,

Hear, O Israel: thou art to pass over the Jordan this day, to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than thyself, cities great and fortified up to heaven,

“ Listen, Israel: Today you are about to cross the Jordan to go and drive out nations greater and stronger than you, with large cities fortified to the heavens.

Hear, O Israel: Thou[ art] to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than thyself, cities great and fenced up to heaven,

Listen, Israel: Today you are about to cross the Jordan so you can dispossess the nations there, people greater and stronger than you who live in large cities with extremely high fortifications.

Hear, Israel! You are to pass over the Jordan today, to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fortified up to the sky,

Where are we going up? Our brothers have made our hearts melt, saying,“ The people are greater and taller than we. The cities are great and fortified up to heaven. And besides, we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.”’

driving out before you nations greater and mightier than you, to bring you in, to give you their land for an inheritance, as it is this day,

then the Lord will drive out all these nations before you, and you will dispossess nations greater and mightier than you.

For you are to cross over the Jordan to go in to take possession of the land that the Lord your God is giving you. And when you possess it and live in it,

“ Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people,‘ Prepare your provisions, for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan to go in to take possession of the land that the Lord your God is giving you to possess.’”

“ When the Lord your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of it, and clears away many nations before you, the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations more numerous and mightier than you,

The people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and they encamped at Gilgal on the east border of Jericho.

“ And I commanded you at that time, saying,‘ The Lord your God has given you this land to possess. All your men of valor shall cross over armed before your brothers, the people of Israel.

the waters coming down from above stood and rose up in a heap very far away, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan, and those flowing down toward the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, were completely cut off. And the people passed over opposite Jericho.

And the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and along the Jordan.”But Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said,“ Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it.”Then the men who had gone up with him said,“ We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are.”So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying,“ The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height.And there we saw the Nephilim( the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.”

So when the people set out from their tents to pass over the Jordan with the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people,

They went up into the Negeb and came to Hebron. Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, were there.( Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

And on the day you cross over the Jordan to the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall set up large stones and plaster them with plaster.

And Joshua said to them,“ Pass on before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and take up each of you a stone upon his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the people of Israel,
