and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied,

The number of your herds and flocks increases. You also get more and more silver and gold. And everything you have multiplies.

and when your flocks and herds have become very large and your silver and gold have multiplied along with everything else, be careful!

So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev, with his wife and everything he had, and Lot went with him.Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold.From the Negev he went from place to place until he came to Bethel, to the place between Bethel and Ai where his tent had been earlierand where he had first built an altar. There Abram called on the name of the Lord.Now Lot, who was moving about with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents. (niv)

I have no place to store my crops.’“ Then he said,‘ This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain.And I’ll say to myself,“ You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’“ But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’“ This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.” (niv)
