And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them,[ and] utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:

But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee[ for] an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:But thou shalt utterly destroy them;[ namely], the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee:

And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this?

And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.

And the spies saw a man come forth out of the city, and they said unto him, Shew us, we pray thee, the entrance into the city, and we will shew thee mercy.

So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the LORD God of Israel commanded.

So the LORD our God delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining.

And the children of Israel smote them not, because the princes of the congregation had sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel. And all the congregation murmured against the princes.But all the princes said unto all the congregation, We have sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel: now therefore we may not touch them.This we will do to them; we will even let them live, lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath which we sware unto them.And the princes said unto them, Let them live; but let them be hewers of wood and drawers of water unto all the congregation; as the princes had promised them.

And the LORD delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that[ were] therein; he let none remain in it; but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho.

And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that[ were] therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho.

Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:

And the city shall be accursed,[ even] it, and all that[ are] therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that[ are] with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.And ye, in any wise keep[ yourselves] from the accursed thing, lest ye make[ yourselves] accursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of brass and iron,[ are] consecrated unto the LORD: they shall come into the treasury of the LORD.So the people shouted when[ the priests] blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.And they utterly destroyed all that[ was] in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.But Joshua had said unto the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot’s house, and bring out thence the woman, and all that she hath, as ye sware unto her.And the young men that were spies went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.And they burnt the city with fire, and all that[ was] therein: only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the LORD.And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father’s household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel[ even] unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:

And it came to pass, when Israel had made an end of slaying all the inhabitants of Ai in the field, in the wilderness wherein they chased them, and when they were all fallen on the edge of the sword, until they were consumed, that all the Israelites returned unto Ai, and smote it with the edge of the sword.

Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name[ is] Jealous,[ is] a jealous God:Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and[ one] call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.

When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be,[ that] all the people[ that is] found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee.

And Judah went up; and the LORD delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand: and they slew of them in Bezek ten thousand men.

But the LORD thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed.And he shall deliver their kings into thine hand, and thou shalt destroy their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.

And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants, how that the LORD thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore afraid of our lives because of you, and have done this thing.

And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.

And the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, which took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that[ were] therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah.

And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.

And they smote all the souls that[ were] therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying[ them]: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword,[ and] he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.

And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them;( now the Gibeonites[ were] not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)

And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.

He that sacrificeth unto[ any] god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
