當追憶主爾之天主導爾出伊及時、所試之大能、所行之異跡奇事、所用之大力大威、爾目所睹者、主爾之天主亦必如是待爾所懼之諸國、

You saw with your own eyes the great trials, the signs and wonders, the mighty hand and outstretched arm, with which the Lord your God brought you out. The Lord your God will do the same to all the peoples you now fear.

With your own eyes you saw what the Lord did to them. You saw the signs and amazing things he did. He reached out his mighty hand and powerful arm. The Lord your God used all those things to bring you out. You are now afraid of the nations that are in the land the Lord promised you. But the Lord your God will do to them the same things he did to Egypt.

有沒有一位神嘗試藉著試驗、神蹟、奇事、戰爭、大能的手和伸出來的膀臂，以及大而可畏的事，把一國的人民從別的國中領出來，像耶和華你們的神在埃及，在你們面前為你們所作的一切事呢？

那日，我向他們舉手起誓，要把他們從埃及地領出來，到我為他們所選定的流奶與蜜之地，就是萬邦中最榮美的地。我對他們說：你們各人要拋棄你們眼中那些可憎的像，不可因埃及的偶像玷污自己：我是耶和華你們的神。但是他們背叛了我，不肯聽從我；他們各人沒有拋棄他們眼中那些可憎的像，沒有離棄埃及的偶像。“‘那時我說，我要把我的烈怒傾倒在他們身上，在埃及地向他們完全發盡我的怒氣。然而我為了我名的緣故沒有這樣作，免得我的名在他們寄居的列國的人眼中被褻瀆，我把他們從埃及地領出來，在列國的人眼前向他們顯現。

今日你們要知道，我並不是與你們的兒女說話，因為他們不知道，也沒有見過耶和華你們的神的管教、偉大有力的手和伸出來的膀臂，以及他在埃及向埃及王法老和法老的全國所行的神蹟和作為；他們也沒有見過他怎樣對待埃及的軍隊、馬匹和車輛；他們追趕你們的時候，耶和華怎樣使紅海的水淹沒了他們，把他們滅絕，這事一直傳到今日；

你曾在埃及地行神蹟奇事，你在以色列和全人類中間直到今日也是這樣，使你自己得了名聲，好像今日一樣。你曾用神蹟奇事、有力的手、伸出來的膀臂，和大而可畏的事，把你的子民以色列從埃及地領出來。

因為你知道埃及人怎樣狂妄自大地對待他們，所以就對法老和他的一切臣僕，以及他國中所有的人民，施行神蹟奇事，為你自己建立了至今仍存的名聲。你又在我們的列祖面前把海分開，使他們在海中的乾地上走過去；把追趕他們的人丟在深處，好像石頭拋進怒海之中。

約書亞說：“看哪，全地之主的約櫃（“全地之主的約櫃”或譯：“約櫃，全地之主”）必在你們前面過約旦河，你們因此就知道永活的神是在你們中間，他必把迦南人、赫人、希未人、比利洗人、革迦撒人、亞摩利人和耶布斯人，從你們面前驅逐出去。
