向恨他的人當面報應他們、殺滅他們；凡恨他的人、他總當面報應他，決不遲延。

永恆主是忌邪、是行報應的上帝；永恆主施行着報應，而且滿有烈怒。永恆主向他的敵人行報應，他向他的仇敵懷怒。

他現在就要按人的行為而施報應，將烈怒加於他的敵人，將報罰加於他的仇敵，向沿海地帶施行報應。

你的手必搜出你一切仇敵，你右手必痛擊恨你的人。你現出怒臉時，就使他們如炎熱的火爐；永恆主必用他的義怒吞滅他們；那火必把他們燒盡。

故此你要知道永恆主你的上帝、他是上帝、是可信可靠的上帝；他向愛他守他誡命的人守約、並守堅固的愛、到千代，

關於所應許的、主並不躭延，像有些人就看為躭延了；不，他乃是以恆忍待你們的；他不願有人滅亡，惟願人人都進到悔改的地步。但主的日子總必來到；來時就像賊一樣。當那日、天必轟然一聲地過去，星辰必因烈熾而被消毁，地和地上被造之物就不見了。

我若磨快了我閃亮的刀，我的手若掌握着審判權，我就必將伸冤報復我的敵人，我必報應恨我的人。

外頭有刀劍、內室有恐怖，使壯丁和處女、喫奶的同白髮的、盡都喪亡。

要等待伸冤報應的日子，等待他們的腳顛躓的時候麼？因為他們遭遇災難的日子近了，那準備要臨到他們身上的就要迅速地來臨。

親愛的，不要自己伸冤，寧可給上帝的義怒留地步；因為經上記着說：『主說，伸冤在我，我必報應。』

不可敬拜它們，也不可事奉它們，因為我永恆主你的上帝是忌邪的上帝；恨我的、我必察罰他們的罪愆、從父親到兒子、到三四代。

恨我的，也恨我的父。我若沒有在他們中間行過別人所沒有行過的事，他們就沒有罪；如今呢、連我與我的父、他們都看見了，也都恨惡了。

義人在地上尚且得賞報，何況惡人罪人、豈不是遭報應呢？
