When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations— the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you—

The Lord your God will bring you into the land. You are going to enter it and take it as your own. He’ll drive out many nations to make room for you. He’ll drive out the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. Those seven nations are larger and stronger than you are.

“ When the Lord your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of it, and clears away many nations before you, the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations more numerous and mightier than you,

趕走比你們強大的民族，領你們進入他們的土地，把他們的土地賜給你們作產業，正如今日的情形。

「以色列人啊，你們要聽！今天你們要過約旦河，去趕出那些比你們強大的民族。他們住在城牆高聳入雲的大城裡，

你們的上帝耶和華要親自帶領你們過河，在你們面前消滅那裡的各族，使你們佔領他們的土地。約書亞將做你們的首領，正如耶和華所言。

「你們和敵人交戰時，面對比你們強大的軍隊及戰車戰馬，不要害怕，因為你們的上帝耶和華與你們同在，祂曾帶領你們離開埃及。

我必差遣天使走在你們前面，趕出當地的迦南人、亞摩利人、赫人、比利洗人、希未人和耶布斯人，

就在那天，耶和華跟亞伯蘭立約，說：「我必將這片土地賜給你的後代，使他們得到從埃及河到幼發拉底河一帶的土地，就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、赫人、比利洗人、利乏音人、亞摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人和耶布斯人的土地。」

後來上帝又滅了迦南境內的七族，把土地分給他們作產業。

你親手趕出外族，把我們的祖先安置在那裡；你擊潰列邦，使我們的祖先興旺發達。他們不是靠自己的刀劍征服那裡，不是靠自己的臂膀得勝，而是靠你的權能、力量和恩惠，因為你愛他們。

「你們的上帝耶和華趕走他們以後，你們不要以為耶和華帶領你們佔領那片土地是因為你們公義，其實是因為那裡的民族邪惡，耶和華才將他們從你們面前趕走。

「以色列人啊，要聆聽我傳授給你們的律法，要切實遵行，以便你們可以存活，並進入你們祖先的上帝耶和華賜給你們的那片土地。我吩咐你們的，你們不可做任何增減，這是你們的上帝耶和華的命令，你們要遵守。你們親眼看見耶和華在巴力·毗珥事件中的作為，你們的上帝耶和華毀滅了你們中間所有拜巴力·毗珥的人，

你們說你們的兒女會被擄去，但我要把他們帶到那裡，讓他們享有那片你們厭棄的土地。

你們的上帝耶和華帶領你們進入並佔領那片土地時，你們要在基利心山上宣告祝福，在以巴路山上宣告咒詛。

趕出所有敵人，正如耶和華所言。

你大顯威嚴，擊倒那些起來對抗你的人；你大發雷霆，他們便像枯草遇火，一燒而盡。

從他們面前趕出外族人，把外族人的土地分給他們，作為他們的產業，使以色列各支派安頓下來。

我必帶領你們進入我舉手起誓要給亞伯拉罕、以撒和雅各的那片土地，把它賜給你們作產業。我是耶和華。』」

我要派黃蜂做你的先鋒，趕走那些希未人、迦南人和赫人。

因為當我把他們帶到我起誓應許他們祖先的奶蜜之鄉後，當他們在那裡吃飽喝足後，就會嫌棄我，違背我與他們所立的約，去供奉別的神明。

「你們的上帝耶和華將帶你們進入祂向你們祖先亞伯拉罕、以撒和雅各起誓要賜給你們的土地。那裡的宏偉城邑不是你們建造的，

祂帶領我們離開埃及，為要把我們帶進祂起誓賜給我們祖先的這片土地。

「你們的上帝耶和華吩咐我教導你們以下的誡命、律例和典章，以便你們在將要佔領的土地上遵行。
