將來你們的兒女若問你們說：「這事奉禮對你們有甚麼意思？」你們就要說：「這是獻給永恆主的逾越節之祭。當以色列人在埃及、永恆主擊死了埃及人的時候，他越過以色列人的房屋，援救了我們的家。」』於是人民俯伏敬拜。

我和他知交，是要叫他吩咐他的子孫、和他以後的家屬一直走我永恆主的道路，秉公行義，為要使永恆主指着亞伯拉罕所應許的話都歸給他。』

『你只要謹慎、極力謹守你自己，免得你忘記你親眼見過的事，免得這些事儘你一生的日子離開你的心：你總要講給你的子子孫孫知道——你在何烈山站在永恆主你的上帝面前那一天，永恆主怎樣對我說：「你要召集人民，我要叫他們聽我的話，使他們儘在地上活着的日子可以學習敬畏我，也可以教訓他們的兒女。

任何壞話都別說出口了；卻要說按需要能建立人的好話，好將溫雅之恩給聽的人。

我們不將這些事向他們的子孫隱瞞；我們乃要將永恆主可頌可讚的事和他的能力、及他所行的奇妙作為、向後代的人敘說。他在雅各中立了法度，在以色列中設了律法，是他吩咐我們祖宗、要教訓他們子孫，使將要出生的後代子孫可以曉得；讓他們也起來去對他們子孫敘述，

日後你的兒子若問你說：「這是甚麼意思？」，你要對他說：「是永恆主用他手的權能將我們從埃及、從為奴之家領出來。那時法老硬不要讓我們走，永恆主就把埃及地所有頭胎的，無論是頭胎的人、或是頭胎的牲口、都殺了，因此我把一切頭胎的公牲畜祭獻給永恆主，而將我一切頭胎的兒子都贖出來。

善人由心裏的善之庫房裏拿出善來；惡人由邪惡之庫房裏拿出邪惡來；因為是由於心裏所充溢的，他的口就說出來。

只要心裏承認基督為主，尊奉為聖。凡有人請你們說明你們心中所盼望的之緣由，你們總要老準備着回護答覆他。不過也要帶着柔和與敬畏的心，

義人的嘴脣牧養多人；愚妄人因無心思而早死。

善人由善之庫房裏發出善來；惡人由邪惡之庫房裏發出邪惡來。

我要在君王面前講論你的法度，也不覺得羞愧。

你出入往來、她必引導你；你躺着睡，她必看護你；你醒來，她必跟你談話。

我要在多人大眾中將上帝救人之義氣傳為好消息；我的嘴脣我必不制止；永恆主啊，惟有你知道。你救人之義氣我未隱藏於心中；你的忠信和拯救我已經說出；你的堅愛和忠信我未曾向多人大眾隱瞞。

智慧人的嘴脣散播着知識；愚頑人的心並不明理。

那些敬畏永恆主的就是這樣彼此談論的；永恆主也留心聽着；在他面前且有備忘冊記錄着那些敬畏永恆主、想念他名的人的事呢。

智慧人的舌頭滴下知識；愚頑人的口吐出愚妄。

你們的話要時常帶着溫雅的情調，像用鹽調和而有味道，使你們曉得怎樣回答各人。

過路的也不說：『願永恆主的祝福歸於你們』；『我們奉永恆主的名給你們祝福。』

在城門那裏的眾民、以及那些長老都說：『我們作見證。願永恆主使進你家的這女子像建立以色列家的拉結、利亞二人一樣；又願你在以法他大顯才德，願你的名在伯利恆得稱揚；

義人的口說出智慧，他的舌頭講論公平。

那時波阿斯剛從伯利恆來，對收割的人說：『願永恆主和你們同在』；他們回答他說：『願永恆主賜福與你。』

願永恆主照你所行的賞報你；你來避難於永恆主以色列之上帝的翅膀下，願你滿得他的賞賜。』
