tell him:“ We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

If they do ask you, tell them,“ We were Pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt. But the Lord used his mighty hand to bring us out of Egypt.

So, then, remember that at one time you were Gentiles in the flesh— called“ the uncircumcised” by those called“ the circumcised,” which is done in the flesh by human hands.At that time you were without Christ, excluded from the citizenship of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of promise, without hope and without God in the world.

I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the place of slavery.

But thank God that, although you used to be slaves of sin, you obeyed from the heart that pattern of teaching to which you were handed over,and having been set free from sin, you became enslaved to righteousness.

You saw the oppression of our ancestors in Egypt and heard their cry at the Red Sea.You performed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, all his officials, and all the people of his land, for you knew how arrogantly they treated our ancestors. You made a name for yourself that endures to this day.

Then Moses said to the people,“ Remember this day when you came out of Egypt, out of the place of slavery, for the LORD brought you out of here by the strength of his hand. Nothing leavened may be eaten.

He struck the firstborn of the Egyptians His faithful love endures forever.and brought Israel out from among them His faithful love endures forever.with a strong hand and outstretched arm. His faithful love endures forever.

You performed signs and wonders in the land of Egypt and still do today, both in Israel and among all mankind. You made a name for yourself, as is the case today.You brought your people Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, and with great terror.

“ However, I know that the king of Egypt will not allow you to go, even under force from a strong hand.

I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the place of slavery.

You are to respond by saying in the presence of the LORD your God: My father was a wandering Aramean. He went down to Egypt with a few people and resided there as an alien. There he became a great, powerful, and populous nation.But the Egyptians mistreated and oppressed us, and forced us to do hard labor.So we called out to the LORD, the God of our ancestors, and the LORD heard our cry and saw our misery, hardship, and oppression.Then the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, with terrifying power, and with signs and wonders.He led us to this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.

Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt and the LORD your God redeemed you; that is why I am giving you this command today.

Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, you who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were cut, and to the quarry from which you were dug.

Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out of there with a strong hand and an outstretched arm. That is why the LORD your God has commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
