Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted[ him] in Massah.

勿試耶和華爾之上帝、如昔在馬撒然。

勿試主爾之天主、如昔爾試之在瑪撒然、

Do not put the Lord your God to the test as you did at Massah.

Don’t test the Lord your God as you did at Massah.

“ You shall not put the Lord your God to the test, as you tested him at Massah.

You must not test the Lord your God as you did when you complained at Massah.

Do not test the LORD your God as you tested him at Massah.

“ You shall not tempt the Lord your God as you tempted Him in Massah.

Ye shall not tempt Jehovah your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

You shall not tempt Yahweh your God, as you tempted him in Massah.

And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?

And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for[ there is] no bread, neither[ is there any] water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?

This[ is] the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.
