for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.

The Lord your God is among you. He wants you to worship only him. If you worship other gods, God will be very angry with you. And he will destroy you from the face of the land.

for the Lord your God in your midst is a jealous God— lest the anger of the Lord your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth.

因为他必使你的儿女离弃我，去事奉别神，以致耶和华的怒气向你们发作，迅速将你除灭。

以致耶和华的怒气向你们发作，使天封闭不下雨，使地不出产，使你们在耶和华所赐给你们的美地上速速灭亡。

这事使耶罗波安的家陷入罪里，甚至他的家被剪除，从地面上消灭了。

为什么让埃及人说：‘他领他们出去，是要降灾祸给他们，在山中把他们杀了，将他们从地上除灭’呢？求你回心转意，不发你的烈怒，不降灾祸给你的百姓。

看哪，主耶和华的眼目察看这有罪的国度，要把它从地面上灭绝，却不将雅各家灭绝净尽。”这是耶和华说的。

他们却嘲笑上帝的使者，藐视他的话，讥诮他的先知，以致耶和华向他的百姓大发烈怒，甚至无法可救。

谁晓得你怒气的权势？谁因着敬畏你而晓得你的愤怒呢？

“在地上万族中，我只认识你们；因此，我必惩罚你们一切的罪孽。”

不可跪拜那些像，也不可事奉它们，因为我耶和华—你的上帝是忌邪的上帝。恨我的，我必惩罚他们的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代；

当日，耶和华的怒气发作，起誓说：‘凡从埃及上来二十岁以上的人，断不得看见我对亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓应许之地，因为他们没有专心跟从我；惟有基尼洗族耶孚尼的儿子迦勒，还有嫩的儿子约书亚可以看见，因为他们专心跟从耶和华。’耶和华的怒气向以色列发作，使他们在旷野飘流四十年，直到在耶和华眼前作恶的那一代都消灭了。看哪，你们这一伙罪人，竟然接续你们父执之辈，再增加耶和华对以色列所发的怒气。你们若转离不跟从他，他要再把以色列人撇在旷野；这样，你们就使这众百姓灭亡了。”

我们因你的怒气而消灭，因你的愤怒而惊惶。

因为再过七天，我要降雨在地上四十昼夜，把我所造的一切生物从地面上除灭。”

我们要惹主的嫉恨吗？我们比他更强吗？
