for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.

The Lord your God is among you. He wants you to worship only him. If you worship other gods, God will be very angry with you. And he will destroy you from the face of the land.

for the Lord your God in your midst is a jealous God— lest the anger of the Lord your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth.

for the Lord your God, who lives among you, is a jealous God. His anger will flare up against you, and he will wipe you from the face of the earth.

因為耶和華－你的神乃是烈火，是忌邪的神。

不可跪拜那些像，也不可事奉它，因為我耶和華－你的神是忌邪的神。恨我的，我必追討他的罪，自父及子，直到三四代；

因為他必使你兒子轉離不跟從主，去事奉別神，以致耶和華的怒氣向你們發作，就速速地將你們滅絕。

耶和華的怒氣向你們發作，就使天閉塞不下雨，地也不出產，使你們在耶和華所賜給你們的美地上速速滅亡。

這事叫耶羅波安的家陷在罪裏，甚至他的家從地上除滅了。

為甚麼使埃及人議論說『他領他們出去，是要降禍與他們，把他們殺在山中，將他們從地上除滅』？求你轉意，不發你的烈怒，後悔，不降禍與你的百姓。

主耶和華的眼目察看這有罪的國，必將這國從地上滅絕，卻不將雅各家滅絕淨盡。這是耶和華說的。

他們卻嘻笑神的使者，藐視他的言語，譏誚他的先知，以致耶和華的忿怒向他的百姓發作，無法可救。

誰曉得你怒氣的權勢？誰按着你該受的敬畏曉得你的忿怒呢？

在地上萬族中，我只認識你們；因此，我必追討你們的一切罪孽。

不可跪拜那些像，也不可事奉它，因為我耶和華－你的神是忌邪的神。恨我的，我必追討他的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代；

當日，耶和華的怒氣發作，就起誓說：『凡從埃及上來、二十歲以外的人斷不得看見我對亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓應許之地，因為他們沒有專心跟從我。惟有基尼洗族耶孚尼的兒子迦勒和嫩的兒子約書亞可以看見，因為他們專心跟從我。』耶和華的怒氣向以色列人發作，使他們在曠野飄流四十年，等到在耶和華眼前行惡的那一代人都消滅了。誰知，你們起來接續先祖，增添罪人的數目，使耶和華向以色列大發烈怒。你們若退後不跟從他，他還要把以色列人撇在曠野，便是你們使這眾民滅亡。」

我們因你的怒氣而消滅，因你的忿怒而驚惶。

因為再過七天，我要降雨在地上四十晝夜，把我所造的各種活物都從地上除滅。」

我們可惹主的憤恨嗎？我們比他還有能力嗎？
