for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.

The Lord your God is among you. He wants you to worship only him. If you worship other gods, God will be very angry with you. And he will destroy you from the face of the land.

for the Lord your God in your midst is a jealous God— lest the anger of the Lord your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth.

因为你们的上帝耶和华是烈火，是痛恨不贞的上帝。

不可跪拜它们，也不可供奉它们，因为我——你的上帝耶和华痛恨不贞，我必追讨背弃我之人的罪，从父到子直到三四代。

因为他们会让你们的儿女离弃耶和华去拜其他神明，以致耶和华向你们发怒，迅速毁灭你们。

否则，耶和华必向你们发怒，使天不下雨、地无出产，以致你们在祂赐给你们的佳美之地上迅速灭亡。

这罪使耶罗波安家走向没落，最终彻底灭亡。

难道你要让埃及人议论说你领他们出来是出于恶意，是为了在山野之间杀掉他们，从地上灭绝他们吗？求你息怒，施怜悯，不要降祸给你的子民。

主耶和华的眼目察看这罪恶的国家，我要从地上除灭它，但不会完全毁灭雅各家。这是耶和华说的。

他们却嘲弄耶和华上帝的使者，藐视祂的话，嘲笑祂的先知，以致祂的愤怒临到祂的子民身上，无可挽救。

谁明白你愤怒的威力？有谁因为明白你的烈怒而对你心存敬畏呢？

‘世上万族之中，我只拣选了你们，所以我要因你们的罪恶而惩罚你们。’”

那天耶和华发怒，起誓说，‘从埃及出来、二十岁以上的人都看不到我起誓要赐给亚伯拉罕、以撒和雅各的土地，因为他们没有全心全意地跟从我；只有基尼洗族耶孚尼的儿子迦勒和嫩的儿子约书亚可以看到，因为他们全心全意地跟从我。’耶和华向以色列人发怒，使他们在旷野漂泊了四十年，直到在耶和华面前作恶的那一代都死了。“现在，你们这群罪人的后代竟然重蹈前人的覆辙，加剧耶和华的怒气。如果你们离弃祂，祂必再次把以色列人丢弃在旷野，这样你们就毁了整个民族。”

你的怒气使我们灭亡，你的愤怒使我们战抖。

因为七天之后，我要在地上降雨四十昼夜，毁灭我所造的一切生灵。”

我们想惹主嫉妒吗？难道我们比祂更有能力吗？
