You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

Do not bow down to them or worship them. I am the Lord your God. I want you to worship only me. I cause the sins of the parents to affect their children. I will cause the sins of those who hate me to affect even their grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

You shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected— even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me.

Do not bow in worship to them, and do not serve them, because I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, bringing the consequences of the fathers’ iniquity on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me,

You must not worship or serve them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God. I punish the sons, grandsons, and great-grandsons for the sin of the fathers who reject me,

施恩於人、直至千世、或作施恩於千萬人赦愆尤過失罪惡、惟罪當罰者、斷無不罰、為父之罪、罰子孫至三四代、

禱告主我之天主、自陳罪愆、曰、主歟、至大可畏之天主、為敬愛主謹守主命者、踐約施恩、我儕犯罪違背、作惡叛逆、棄主之誡命法度、主之僕諸先知、奉主之命、勸教我儕君王、我儕牧伯、我儕列祖、及國之庶民、俱弗聽從、猶大人、耶路撒冷居民、及以色列眾、因獲罪於主、主逐之散於各邦、或近或遠、有若今日之景況、我儕遭此、面蒙羞愧、惟主至公至義、主歟、我儕君王、我儕牧伯、我儕列祖獲罪於主、面蒙羞愧、我儕雖悖逆主我之天主、主仍矜憫赦宥、

毋崇拜他神、因我耶和華稱為忌邪者、乃忌邪之天主、

主曾云、我耶和華乃忍怒大施恩惠、赦宥愆尤罪過、惟罪當罰、斷無不罰、罰父之罪、以及子孫、至於三四代、

施恩於千百代、因父之罪、罰及後嗣、至大全能之天主、名為萬有之主、

以福音論之、彼則為敵、為爾曹也、以選擇論之、彼則見愛、為列祖也、蓋天主恩賜及其召人、皆無悔也、

致地上流義人之血、皆歸於爾、即自義人亞伯之血、至爾所殺於殿及祭臺間巴拉迦子撒迦利亞之血也、我誠告爾、此事皆必歸於斯代、
