“ I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.“ Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.“ You shall not murder.“ You shall not commit adultery.“ You shall not steal.“ You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.“ You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” (niv)

When God went out against Egypt, he established it as a statute for Joseph. I heard an unknown voice say:“ I removed the burden from their shoulders; their hands were set free from the basket.In your distress you called and I rescued you, I answered you out of a thundercloud; I tested you at the waters of Meribah.Hear me, my people, and I will warn you— if you would only listen to me, Israel!You shall have no foreign god among you; you shall not worship any god other than me.I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it. (niv)

but all of you who held fast to the Lord your God are still alive today. (niv)

“‘ Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the Lord your God.“‘ Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord. (niv)
