當時我立在主及爾曹間、以主言告爾、蓋爾曹懼火、不敢登山、

( At that time I stood between the Lord and you to declare to you the word of the Lord, because you were afraid of the fire and did not go up the mountain.) And he said:

I stood as an intermediary between you and the Lord, for you were afraid of the fire and did not want to approach the mountain. He spoke to me, and I passed his words on to you. This is what he said:

At that time I was standing between the LORD and you to report the word of the LORD to you, because you were afraid of the fire and did not go up the mountain. And he said:

( I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,

( I was standing between the LORD and you at that time to reveal to you the message of the LORD, because you were afraid of the fire and would not go up the mountain.) He said:

( I stood between Yahweh and you at that time, to show you Yahweh’s word; for you were afraid because of the fire, and didn’t go up onto the mountain) saying,

這樣說來，律法是為甚麼有的呢？原是為過犯添上的，等候那蒙應許的子孫來到，並且是藉天使經中保之手設立的。

到了第三天早晨，在山上有雷轟、閃電，和密雲，並且角聲甚大，營中的百姓盡都發顫。

眾百姓見雷轟、閃電、角聲、山上冒煙，就都發顫，遠遠地站立，對摩西說：「求你和我們說話，我們必聽；不要神和我們說話，恐怕我們死亡。」摩西對百姓說：「不要懼怕；因為神降臨是要試驗你們，叫你們時常敬畏他，不致犯罪。」於是百姓遠遠地站立；摩西就挨近神所在的幽暗之中。

你們原不是來到那能摸的山；此山有火焰、密雲、黑暗、暴風、角聲與說話的聲音。那些聽見這聲音的，都求不要再向他們說話；因為他們當不起所命他們的話，說：「靠近這山的，即便是走獸，也要用石頭打死。」所見的極其可怕，甚至摩西說：「我甚是恐懼戰兢。」你們乃是來到錫安山，永生神的城邑，就是天上的耶路撒冷。那裏有千萬的天使，有名錄在天上諸長子之會所共聚的總會，有審判眾人的神和被成全之義人的靈魂，並新約的中保耶穌，以及所灑的血；這血所說的比亞伯的血所說的更美。

惟獨你可以親近耶和華；他們卻不可親近；百姓也不可和你一同上來。」摩西下山，將耶和華的命令典章都述說與百姓聽。眾百姓齊聲說：「耶和華所吩咐的，我們都必遵行。」

因為基督並不是進了人手所造的聖所（這不過是真聖所的影像），乃是進了天堂，如今為我們顯在神面前；

他們的君王必是屬乎他們的；掌權的必從他們中間而出。我要使他就近我，他也要親近我；不然，誰有膽量親近我呢？這是耶和華說的。

求你近前去，聽耶和華－我們神所要說的一切話，將他對你說的話都傳給我們，我們就聽從遵行。』

天使又指給我看：大祭司約書亞站在耶和華的使者面前；撒但也站在約書亞的右邊，與他作對。耶和華向撒但說：「撒但哪，耶和華責備你！就是揀選耶路撒冷的耶和華責備你！這不是從火中抽出來的一根柴嗎？」約書亞穿着污穢的衣服站在使者面前。使者吩咐站在面前的說：「你們要脫去他污穢的衣服」；又對約書亞說：「我使你脫離罪孽，要給你穿上華美的衣服。」我說：「要將潔淨的冠冕戴在他頭上。」他們就把潔淨的冠冕戴在他頭上，給他穿上華美的衣服，耶和華的使者在旁邊站立。

所以，他說要滅絕他們；若非有他所揀選的摩西站在當中，使他的忿怒轉消，恐怕他就滅絕他們。

二人轉身離開那裏，向所多瑪去；但亞伯拉罕仍舊站在耶和華面前。

他站在活人死人中間，瘟疫就止住了。
