當時我立在主及爾曹間、以主言告爾、蓋爾曹懼火、不敢登山、

( At that time I stood between the Lord and you to declare to you the word of the Lord, because you were afraid of the fire and did not go up the mountain.) And he said:

I stood as an intermediary between you and the Lord, for you were afraid of the fire and did not want to approach the mountain. He spoke to me, and I passed his words on to you. This is what he said:

At that time I was standing between the LORD and you to report the word of the LORD to you, because you were afraid of the fire and did not go up the mountain. And he said:

( I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,

( I was standing between the LORD and you at that time to reveal to you the message of the LORD, because you were afraid of the fire and would not go up the mountain.) He said:

( I stood between Yahweh and you at that time, to show you Yahweh’s word; for you were afraid because of the fire, and didn’t go up onto the mountain) saying,

这样说来，律法是为什么有的呢？原是为过犯添上的，等候那蒙应许的子孙来到，并且是藉天使经中保之手设立的。

到了第三天早晨，在山上有雷轰、闪电，和密云，并且角声甚大，营中的百姓尽都发颤。

众百姓见雷轰、闪电、角声、山上冒烟，就都发颤，远远地站立，对摩西说：“求你和我们说话，我们必听；不要神和我们说话，恐怕我们死亡。”摩西对百姓说：“不要惧怕；因为神降临是要试验你们，叫你们时常敬畏他，不致犯罪。”于是百姓远远地站立；摩西就挨近神所在的幽暗之中。

你们原不是来到那能摸的山；此山有火焰、密云、黑暗、暴风、角声与说话的声音。那些听见这声音的，都求不要再向他们说话；因为他们当不起所命他们的话，说：“靠近这山的，即便是走兽，也要用石头打死。”所见的极其可怕，甚至摩西说：“我甚是恐惧战兢。”你们乃是来到锡安山，永生神的城邑，就是天上的耶路撒冷。那里有千万的天使，有名录在天上诸长子之会所共聚的总会，有审判众人的神和被成全之义人的灵魂，并新约的中保耶稣，以及所洒的血；这血所说的比亚伯的血所说的更美。

惟独你可以亲近耶和华；他们却不可亲近；百姓也不可和你一同上来。”摩西下山，将耶和华的命令典章都述说与百姓听。众百姓齐声说：“耶和华所吩咐的，我们都必遵行。”

因为基督并不是进了人手所造的圣所（这不过是真圣所的影像），乃是进了天堂，如今为我们显在神面前；

他们的君王必是属乎他们的；掌权的必从他们中间而出。我要使他就近我，他也要亲近我；不然，谁有胆量亲近我呢？这是耶和华说的。

求你近前去，听耶和华我们神所要说的一切话，将他对你说的话都传给我们，我们就听从遵行。’

天使又指给我看：大祭司约书亚站在耶和华的使者面前；撒但也站在约书亚的右边，与他作对。耶和华向撒但说：“撒但哪，耶和华责备你！就是拣选耶路撒冷的耶和华责备你！这不是从火中抽出来的一根柴吗？”约书亚穿着污秽的衣服站在使者面前。使者吩咐站在面前的说：“你们要脱去他污秽的衣服”；又对约书亚说：“我使你脱离罪孽，要给你穿上华美的衣服。”我说：“要将洁净的冠冕戴在他头上。”他们就把洁净的冠冕戴在他头上，给他穿上华美的衣服，耶和华的使者在旁边站立。

所以，他说要灭绝他们；若非有他所拣选的摩西站在当中，使他的忿怒转消，恐怕他就灭绝他们。

二人转身离开那里，向所多玛去；但亚伯拉罕仍旧站在耶和华面前。

他站在活人死人中间，瘟疫就止住了。
