The Lord spoke to you face to face out of the fire on the mountain.

The Lord spoke to you face to face. His voice came out of the fire on the mountain.

The Lord spoke with you face to face at the mountain, out of the midst of the fire,

At the mountain the Lord spoke to you face to face from the heart of the fire.

The LORD spoke to you face to face from the fire on the mountain.

The Lord spoke with you face to face at the mountain from the midst of the fire,

The Lord talked with you face to face on the mountain from the midst of the fire.

The Lord said to Moses,“ I am going to come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people will hear me speaking with you and will always put their trust in you.” Then Moses told the Lord what the people had said. (niv)

From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire. (niv)

Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the Lord descended on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, and the whole mountain trembled violently.As the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and the voice of God answered him. (niv)

Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face, (niv)

The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent. (niv)

And you said,“ The Lord our God has shown us his glory and his majesty, and we have heard his voice from the fire. Today we have seen that a person can live even if God speaks with them.But now, why should we die? This great fire will consume us, and we will die if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any longer.For what mortal has ever heard the voice of the living God speaking out of fire, as we have, and survived? When the people saw the thunder and lightning and heard the trumpet and saw the mountain in smoke, they trembled with fear. They stayed at a distanceand said to Moses,“ Speak to us yourself and we will listen. But do not have God speak to us or we will die.”Moses said to the people,“ Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.”The people remained at a distance, while Moses approached the thick darkness where God was.Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Tell the Israelites this:‘ You have seen for yourselves that I have spoken to you from heaven: (niv)

With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?” (niv)

And they will tell the inhabitants of this land about it. They have already heard that you, Lord, are with these people and that you, Lord, have been seen face to face, that your cloud stays over them, and that you go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. (niv)
