「耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷啊，你常殺害先知，又用石頭打死那奉差遣到你這裏來的人。我多少次想聚集你的兒女，好像母雞把小雞聚集在翅膀底下，但是你們不願意。

「你要愛耶和華－你的上帝，天天遵守他的吩咐、律例、典章、誡命。

我的子民若肯聽從我，以色列肯行我的道，我就速速制伏他們的仇敵，反手攻擊他們的敵人。恨耶和華的人必來投降，願他們的厄運直到永遠。

行為正直、遵行耶和華律法的，這人有福了！遵守他的法度、一心尋求他的，這人有福了！他們不做不義的事，但遵行他的道。耶和華啊，你曾將你的訓詞吩咐我們，為要我們切實遵守。但願我行事堅定，得以遵守你的律例。

「『當孝敬父母，正如耶和華－你上帝所吩咐的，使你得福，並使你的日子在耶和華－你上帝所賜給你的地上得以長久。

我今日吩咐你的律例誡命，你要遵守，使你和你的後裔可以得福，並使你的日子一直在耶和華－你上帝賜你的地上得以長久。」

惟願他們有智慧，能明白這事，他們就會想到自己的結局。若非他們的磐石賣了他們，若非耶和華交出他們，一人豈能追趕千人，二人焉能使萬人逃跑呢？

他說：「我要為自己蓋寬敞的房，蓋高大的樓。」他為它開窗戶，以香柏木為牆板，漆上丹紅色。難道你作王就是要蓋香柏木樓房爭勝的嗎？你的父親豈不是也吃也喝，也施行公平和公義嗎？那時他得了福樂。

我們與上帝同工的也勸你們，不可白受他的恩典；

我一再差遣我的僕人眾先知去，說：你們切不可行我所厭惡這可憎之事。

你們若遵行我所命令的，就是我的朋友。

凡遵守公平、常行公義的，這人有福了！

耶穌卻說：「更有福的是聽上帝的道而遵守的人！」

所以，我們作基督的特使，就好像上帝藉我們勸你們一般。我們替基督求你們，與上帝和好吧！

那些洗淨自己衣服的有福了！他們可得權柄到生命樹那裏，也能從門進城。

以色列啊，你要聽，要謹守遵行，使你可以在那流奶與蜜之地得福，人數極其增多，正如耶和華－你列祖的上帝所應許你的。

總要放母鳥走，只可以取小鳥。這樣你就可以享福，日子得以長久。

耶和華眼中看為正直和美善的事，你都要遵行，使你得福，可以進去得耶和華向你列祖起誓應許的美地，

惟有查看那完美、使人自由的律法，並且時常遵守的，他不是聽了就忘，而是切實行出來，這樣的人在所行的事上必然蒙福。

不可吃血，好讓你和你的子孫可以得福，因為你行了耶和華眼中看為正的事。

你們要對義人說，他是有福的，因為他必吃自己行為所結的果實。

因此你的僕人受警戒，遵守這些有極大的賞賜。

你要謹守聽從我所吩咐的一切話，好讓你和你的子孫可以永遠得福，因為你行耶和華－你上帝眼中看為善、看為正的事。」

路得的婆婆拿娥米對她說：「女兒啊，我不該為你找個歸宿，使你享福嗎？

你的眼不可顧惜他，要從以色列中除掉流無辜血的罪，使你得福。」

你們總要謹慎，不可拒絕那向你們說話的，因為那些拒絕了在地上警戒他們的，尚且不能逃罪，何況我們違背那從天上警戒我們的呢？
