這正是你在何烈山當大眾的日子向永恆主你的上帝所要求的話，說：「不要讓我再聽永恆主我的上帝的聲音了；這偉大的火也永不要讓我再看了，免得我死亡。」

那屬致死職事的制度、用文字刻在石頭上的、尚且帶着榮光而立，甚至以色列人、因摩西臉上的榮光（雖那榮光漸漸消逝）、人也不能定睛看他的臉，何況靈的職事豈不更要帶着榮光麼？引致定罪的職事尚且有榮光，引致稱義的職事就越滿溢着榮光了。

因為我們的上帝乃是燬滅的火。

這樣，律法與應許相反麼？斷乎不是。假使有一個能使人活的律法曾經頒賜下來，稱義就真是由於律法了。其實不然，經書乃是斷言萬人都被圈住在犯罪之中，這就使所應許的須由相信耶穌基督、而賜給信的人了。

他說：『永恆主從西乃而來，他從西珥發晨光、照耀他們，從巴蘭山射發光輝，帶着萬萬聖者來臨，他右手旁有勇士，

凡以行律法為本的都在被咒詛之下；因為經上記着說：『凡不持守律法書上所記的一切去行的人都被咒詛。』
