现在这大火将要烧灭我们，我们何必冒死呢？若再听见耶和华我们神的声音就必死亡。

如我仍聽我上帝耶和華之言、則此大火、必燬我身、我將死亡、爾曷為使我死亡乎。

然我恐此大火燬我、何必冒死、如我再聞主我天主之聲、則必死亡、

But now, why should we die? This great fire will consume us, and we will die if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any longer.

如果，那以條文刻在石版上、屬死亡的服事工作尚且帶有榮光——以致以色列子民因為摩西臉上那漸漸消失的榮光，不能注視他的臉——何況那屬聖靈的服事工作，難道不更帶有榮光嗎？因為那帶來定罪的服事工作尚且有榮光，何況那帶來稱義的服事工作，難道不更充滿了榮光嗎？

要知道，我們的神實在是吞噬的烈火。

那麼，律法和神的各樣應許是對立的嗎？絕對不是！如果一個能使人得生命的律法被賜下，義就真是本於律法了。然而，經上的話把萬物都圈在罪孽之下，為要使這因信耶穌基督而來的應許，賜給那些相信的人。

凡是本於律法上行為的人，都在詛咒之下，因為經上記著：「任何人不持守、不遵行律法書上所記載的一切，都是被詛咒的。」
