然我恐此大火燬我、何必冒死、如我再聞主我天主之聲、則必死亡、

But now, why should we die? This great fire will consume us, and we will die if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any longer.

Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was,will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! for our“ God is a consuming fire.” (niv)

Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe. (niv)

He said:“ The Lord came from Sinai and dawned over them from Seir; he shone forth from Mount Paran. He came with myriads of holy ones from the south, from his mountain slopes. (niv)

For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written:“ Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” (niv)
