So be careful yourselves, that you do not forget the covenant of the Lord your God which He made with you, and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of anything against which the Lord your God has commanded you.

Hebrews 9:19-23
For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the Law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,saying,“ This is the blood of the covenant which God commanded you.”And in the same way he sprinkled both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry with the blood.And almost all things are cleansed with blood, according to the Law, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.Therefore it was necessary for the copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these things, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

Exodus 19:5-8
Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine;and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.”So Moses came and called the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which the Lord had commanded him.Then all the people answered together and said,“ All that the Lord has spoken we will do!” And Moses brought back the words of the people to the Lord.

Hebrews 8:6-13
But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, to the extent that He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises.For if that first covenant had been free of fault, no circumstances would have been sought for a second.For in finding fault with the people, He says,“ Behold, days are coming, says the Lord, When I will bring about a new covenant With the house of Israel and the house of Judah,Not like the covenant which I made with their fathers On the day I took them by the hand To bring them out of the land of Egypt; For they did not continue in My covenant, And I did not care about them, says the Lord.For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel After those days, declares the Lord: I will put My laws into their minds, And write them on their hearts. And I will be their God, And they shall be My people.And they will not teach, each one his fellow citizen, And each one his brother, saying,‘ Know the Lord,’ For they will all know Me, From the least to the greatest of them.For I will be merciful toward their wrongdoings, And their sins I will no longer remember.”When He said,“ A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is about to disappear.

Exodus 24:8
So Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and said,“ Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”
