Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.

因为我拣选了他，是要他吩咐他的子孙和后代家族谨守我耶和华的道路，施行公义和公正；好让我耶和华对亚伯拉罕所说的都应验在他身上。”

就是我们所听过、所知道的，也是我们的祖先向我们讲述过的——我们不会向子孙隐瞒，而要向后代讲述对耶和华的赞美，讲述他的大能和他所行的奇妙作为。他在雅各中立下法度，在以色列中设立律法，这律法是他吩咐我们的祖先教导子孙的，好让将要出生的后代子孙可以明白，并且起来向他们的子孙讲述；这样他们就把神当作他们的依靠，不会忘记神所行的，而会谨守他的诫命；以免像他们的祖先，成为顽梗悖逆、心里不坚定、灵里对神不忠实的一代。

你们做父亲的，不要惹自己儿女生气，而要照着主的训练和警戒养育他们。

我儿啊，你要留心听我的话语，侧耳听我的言语！不要让它们离开你的眼目，要把它们谨守在你心中；因为对找到它们的人，它们就是生命，也使他全身得治愈。当谨守你的心，胜过保守一切，因为生命的泉源由心而出。

孩子们哪，你们要听从父亲的管教；要留心，好使你们获得悟性；因为我给你们的是美好的教诲；你们不要离弃我的法则。当我在父亲身边还是个孩子，在母亲面前是幼嫩的独生子时，父亲指教我，对我说：“你的心要持定我的话语，你当遵守我的诫命，就得以存活！你要获得智慧，获得悟性；不要忘记、也不要偏离我口中的言语。你不要离弃智慧，她就会保守你；你要爱她，她就守护你。智慧是首要的，你要获得智慧；要用你所得的一切获得悟性！你当尊崇智慧，她就高举你；你拥抱她，她就使你得尊荣，她必将恩惠的花冠戴在你的头上，把荣耀的冠冕给予你。”我儿啊，你要听，并要接受我的言语，你生命的岁月就必增多！我指示你走在智慧的道路上，使你踏上正直的路径；你行走的时候，脚步就不受阻碍；就算你奔跑，也不被绊倒。你要持守训导，不要放弃；要谨守智慧，因为她是你的生命。

所以你应当记住你所领受、所听见的是什么；你应当持守，应当悔改。如果你不警醒，我就要来临，就像贼来临那样；而你绝不会知道我什么时候临到你。

我儿啊，不要忘记我的法则，你的心要谨守我的诫命，因为它们会将长久的日子、生命的岁月与平安加给你。不要让慈爱和信实离开你，要把它们系在你的颈项上，刻在你的心版上；

我儿啊，要把你的心交给我，你的眼目要谨守我的道路！

神哪，纵然到我年老发白的时候，你也不要离弃我，直到我向这世代宣告你的能力，向后世所有的人宣告你的大能！

我儿啊，你要听从你父亲的管教，不要撇弃你母亲的法则！

我儿啊，你要谨守真知和谋略，不要让它们离开你的眼目！

因此，我们必须更加留心所听过的事，免得随流漂去。

来吧，儿女们，听从我！我要教导你们敬畏耶和华。谁是那喜爱生命、爱慕长寿为要看到福份的人呢？他就当谨守舌头不出恶言，谨守嘴唇不说欺诈的话。当远离恶事，当行善事，寻找并追求和平。耶和华的眼目向着义人，他的耳朵听他们的呼求。耶和华的脸敌对作恶的人，要把他们的名号从地上剪除。

我将你的话语珍藏在我心里，免得我对你犯罪。

我儿啊，你当遵守我的言语，把我的诫命珍藏在你里面！

你看，信仰和他的行为相辅相成，而且信仰是本于行为得以完全的。

那么，如果我们忽视了如此伟大的救恩，又怎么能逃脱报应呢？这救恩起初由主传讲，后来由那些听见的人向我们证实。

所以，你们要留心怎样去听；因为凡是有的，还要赐给他；凡是没有的，连他自以为有的也将从他那里被拿走。”

唯独活人——活着的人才会称颂你，像我今天这样；作父亲的才会使儿女认识你的信实。
