From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire.

耶和華對摩西說：「看哪，我要在密雲中臨到你那裏，叫百姓在我與你說話的時候可以聽見，就可以永遠相信你了。」於是，摩西將百姓的話稟告耶和華。

角聲越來越響，摩西說話，神以聲音回答他。

有哪些百姓聽見神在火中說話的聲音，像你聽見了還能存活呢？

你降臨在西奈山，從天上與他們說話，賜給他們正直的典章、真實的律法、美好的律例與誡命，

你們總要謹慎，不可拒絕那向你們說話的，因為那些拒絕了在地上警戒他們的，尚且不能逃罪，何況我們違背那從天上警戒我們的呢？

眾百姓見雷轟、閃電、角聲、山上冒煙，百姓看見就都戰抖，遠遠站着。他們對摩西說：「請你向我們說話，我們必聽；不要讓神向我們說話，免得我們死亡。」摩西對百姓說：「不要害怕；因為神降臨是要考驗你們，要你們敬畏他，不致犯罪。」於是百姓遠遠站着，但摩西卻挨近神所在的幽暗中。耶和華對摩西說：「你要向以色列人這樣說：『你們親自看見我從天上向你們說話了。

你們不是來到那可觸摸的山，那裏有火焰、密雲、黑暗、暴風、

耶和華的榮耀駐在西奈山，雲彩遮蓋了山六天，第七天他從雲中呼叫摩西。
