From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire.

角聲越來越大，大到極點的時候，摩西就說話，神用雷聲回答摩西。

有沒有一個民族聽見神在火中說話的聲音，像你聽見的一樣，還能活著呢？

你降臨西奈山上，從天上與他們說話，賜給他們正直的典章、真實的律法、美好的條例與誡命。

你們要謹慎，不要棄絕那位說話的，因為從前的人棄絕了那位在地上警戒他們的，尚且不能逃罪；何況現在我們背棄那位從天上警戒我們的呢？

全體人民都看見打雷、閃電、角聲和冒著煙的山；人民看見了，就顫抖，遠遠地站著。他們對摩西說：“求你和我們說話吧，我們必定聽你的話，不可讓神和我們說話，恐怕我們死亡。”摩西回答人民：“不要懼怕，因為神降臨是要試驗你們，叫你們常常敬畏他，不至犯罪。”於是，人民遠遠地站著，摩西卻走近神所在的幽暗之中。耶和華對摩西說：“你要對以色列人這樣說：‘你們親自看見我從天上和你們說話了。

你們不是來到那座摸得著的山。那裡有烈火、密雲、幽暗、暴風、

耶和華的榮耀停在西奈山上，雲彩把山遮蓋了六天；第七天，耶和華從雲彩中呼喚摩西。
