『你們在那地住久了，生子養孫，若敗壞了自己、去造雕像，造任何東西的形像，行永恆主你的上帝所看為壞的事、去惹他發怒，

厥後、爾久居斯土、生子生孫、如其自敗、依像雕偶、作惡於爾上帝耶和華前、以激其怒、

厥後爾久居斯土生子傳孫、自壞心術、雕刻偶像、作惡於汝上帝耶和華前、以干厥怒。

爾將渡約但得地為業、爾久居斯地、生子生孫、若自敗自壞、製造偶像、百物之形像、作惡於主爾天主前、干犯其怒、我今日呼天地為證、爾必於斯地殞亡甚速、不能延長在彼、必致殲滅、

After you have had children and grandchildren and have lived in the land a long time— if you then become corrupt and make any kind of idol, doing evil in the eyes of the Lord your God and arousing his anger,

So don’t make a statue of a god. Don’t commit that horrible sin. Don’t do it even after you have had children and grandchildren. Don’t do it even after you have lived in the land a long time. If you do, that will be an evil thing in the sight of the Lord your God. You will make him angry.

“ When you father children and children’s children, and have grown old in the land, if you act corruptly by making a carved image in the form of anything, and by doing what is evil in the sight of the Lord your God, so as to provoke him to anger,

“ In the future, when you have children and grandchildren and have lived in the land a long time, do not corrupt yourselves by making idols of any kind. This is evil in the sight of the Lord your God and will arouse his anger.

“ When you have children and grandchildren and have been in the land a long time, and if you act corruptly, make an idol in the form of anything, and do what is evil in the sight of the LORD your God, angering him,

“ When you father children and have grandchildren, and you grow old in the land, and you act corruptly, and make an idol in the form of anything, and do what is evil in the sight of the Lord your God to provoke Him to anger,

“ When you beget children and grandchildren and have grown old in the land, and act corruptly and make a carved image in the form of anything, and do evil in the sight of the Lord your God to provoke Him to anger,

When thou shalt beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have been long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image in the form of anything, and shall do that which is evil in the sight of Jehovah thy God, to provoke him to anger;

“ When you have children and grandchildren and have been in the land a long time, and if you act corruptly, make an idol in the form of anything, and do what is evil in the sight of the Lord your God, provoking Him to anger,

When thou shalt beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt[ yourselves], and make a graven image,[ or] the likeness of any[ thing], and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger:

After you have produced children and grandchildren and have been in the land a long time, if you become corrupt and make an image of any kind and do other evil things before the LORD your God that enrage him,

When you shall father children and children’s children, and you shall have been long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a carved image in the form of anything, and shall do that which is evil in Yahweh your God’s sight to provoke him to anger,

恐怕你們敗壞自己，為自己製造偶像，製造任何神像的形象，無論是男像或是女像，

他們又把兒女用火燒為祭，並且占卜，行法術，出賣自己去行耶和華看為惡的事，使他發怒。於是耶和華向以色列人大大發怒，把他們從自己面前趕走，只剩下猶大一個支派。連猶大人也不持守耶和華他們的神的吩咐，隨從以色列人所行的習俗。

我要捨棄我的產業的餘民，把他們交在他們的仇敵手上；他們要成為他們的仇敵的掠物和戰利品。因為自從他們的祖先從埃及出來的那天，直到今日，他們一直行我看為惡的事，惹我發怒。’”此外，瑪拿西又流了許多無辜人的血，耶路撒冷，從這邊直到那邊，都滿了血。這還是在他使猶大人犯罪，去行耶和華看為惡的事那罪之外。

耶和華對摩西說：“看哪，你快要和你的列祖長眠了；這人民要起來，在他們所要去的地方，在那地的人中，與外族人的神行邪淫，離棄我，破壞我與他們所立的約。到了那日，我必向他們大發烈怒，離棄他們，掩面不顧他們，他們就必被吞滅，並且遭遇很多災禍和患難。到了那日，他們必說：‘我們遭遇這些災禍，不是因為我們的神不在我們中間嗎？’到了那日，因為他們偏向了別的神，和所作的一切惡事，我必掩面不顧他們。

他行耶和華看為惡的事，好像耶和華在以色列人面前趕走的民族所行的可憎惡的事。

以法蓮深深敗壞，如同在基比亞的日子一般。神必記得他們的罪孽，懲罰他們的罪惡。

難道我們要激起主的忿怒嗎？我們比他更強嗎？

耶和華對摩西說：“你下山去吧，因為你的人民，就是你從埃及地領出來的，已經敗壞了。

因為我知道我死了以後，你們必完全敗壞，偏離我吩咐你們的道路；在末後的日子必有災禍臨到你們身上，因為你們必行耶和華看為惡的事，以你們手所作的事，惹他發怒。”

耶和華的僕人，嫩的兒子約書亞，在一百一十歲的時候就死了。以色列人把他埋葬在他地業的境內，就是以法蓮山地，在迦實山北面的亭拿．希烈。那一代的人都歸到他們的列祖那裡以後，有另一代的人興起來了；他們不認識耶和華，也不知道耶和華為以色列人所行的事。以色列人行了耶和華看為惡的事，去事奉眾巴力；他們離棄了領他們出埃及的耶和華、他們列祖的神，去跟從別的神，就是他們周圍各族的神，敬拜他們，惹耶和華發怒。他們離棄了耶和華，去事奉巴力和亞斯他錄。耶和華的怒氣向以色列人發作，就把他們交在搶掠的人手中，他們就搶掠他們；他又把他們完全交在他們四圍的仇敵手中，以致他們在仇敵面前再不能站立得住。他們無論去哪裡，耶和華的手總是加害他們，好像耶和華說過的，又像耶和華對他們起誓過的；他們就非常困苦。

他行耶和華他的神看為惡的事；耶利米先知奉耶和華的命令警戒他，他仍不在耶利米面前謙卑下來。尼布甲尼撒王曾經使他指著神起誓，他還是背叛了尼布甲尼撒；他頑固執拗，不肯歸向耶和華以色列的神。此外，所有的祭司長和人民也都大大地得罪神，隨從列國所行一切可憎的事；他們污穢了耶和華在耶路撒冷分別為聖的殿。耶和華他們列祖的神，因為愛惜自己的子民和居所，就常常差派使者警戒他們。他們卻戲弄神的使者，藐視他的話，譏誚他的先知，以致耶和華的忿怒臨到他的子民身上，直到無法挽救。
