我郑重警告所有听见这书上预言的人：如果谁在这书上增添什么，上帝必将这书上所记载的灾祸加在他身上；如果有人从这预言书上删减什么，上帝必使他无份于这书上所记载的生命树和圣城。

你只要刚强勇敢，谨遵我仆人摩西所吩咐你的一切律法，毫不偏离，就可以无往不利。

弟兄姊妹，我举个日常生活中的例子。世人的合约一经双方签订之后，就不能作废，也不能加添。

我实在告诉你们，就是到天地都消失了，律法的一点一划都不会废除，全都要成就。

以上所说的，总而言之，就是要敬畏上帝，遵守祂的诫命，这是人的本分。

“为什么你的门徒吃饭前不行洗手礼，破坏祖先的传统呢？”耶稣回答说：“为什么你们拘守传统而违背上帝的诫命呢？上帝说，‘要孝敬父母’，又说，‘咒骂父母的，必被处死。’你们却说，‘人如果把供养父母的钱奉献给上帝，他就不必供养父母。’你们这是用传统来废掉上帝的诫命。你们这些伪君子，以赛亚指着你们说的预言一点不错，“‘这些人嘴上尊崇我，心却远离我，他们的教导无非是人的规条，他们敬拜我也是枉然。’”

有法利赛人和一些律法教师从耶路撒冷来见耶稣。他们看到祂的门徒有些吃饭前没有照礼仪洗手。因为法利赛人和所有的犹太人都拘守祖先的传统，总是先照礼仪洗手之后才吃饭；从市场回来也要先洁净自己，然后才吃饭。他们还拘守许多其他规矩，如洗杯、罐、铜器等。他们质问耶稣：“为什么你的门徒违背祖先的传统，竟用不洁净的手吃饭呢？”耶稣回答说：“以赛亚先知针对你们这些伪君子所说的预言一点不错，正如圣经上说，“‘这些人嘴上尊崇我，心却远离我。他们的教导无非是人的规条，他们敬拜我也是枉然。’你们只知拘守人的传统，却无视上帝的诫命。”耶稣又对他们说：“你们为了拘守自己的传统，竟巧妙地废除了上帝的诫命。摩西说，‘要孝敬父母’，又说，‘咒骂父母的，必被处死。’你们却认为人若对父母说，‘我把供养你们的钱财已经全部奉献给上帝了’，他就可以不奉养父母。你们就是这样为了拘守传统而废除上帝的道，类似的情形还有很多。”

“你们听过这样的话，‘要爱邻居，恨仇敌。’
