恐爾自敗、為己作偶像、仿諸形像、或男像、或女像、

so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman,

Make sure you don’t commit a horrible sin. Don’t make for yourselves a statue of a god. Don’t make a god that looks like a man or woman or anything else.

beware lest you act corruptly by making a carved image for yourselves, in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

So do not corrupt yourselves by making an idol in any form— whether of a man or a woman,

so that you do not act corruptly and make a carved image for yourselves in the form of any figure, a representation of male or female,

lest you act corruptly and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of any figure: the likeness of male or female,

lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

not to act corruptly and make an idol for yourselves in the shape of any figure: a male or female form,

Lest ye corrupt[ yourselves], and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

I say this so you will not corrupt yourselves by making an image in the form of any kind of figure. This includes the likeness of a human male or female,

lest you corrupt yourselves, and make yourself a carved image in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

Since, then, we are God’s offspring, we shouldn’t think that the divine nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image fashioned by human art and imagination.

Do not make an idol for yourself, whether in the shape of anything in the heavens above or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth.Do not bow in worship to them, and do not serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, bringing the consequences of the fathers’ iniquity on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me,

Be careful not to forget the covenant of the LORD your God that he made with you, and make an idol for yourselves in the shape of anything he has forbidden you.

The LORD spoke to Moses:“ Go down at once! For your people you brought up from the land of Egypt have acted corruptly.

And what great nation has righteous statutes and ordinances like this entire law I set before you today?“ Only be on your guard and diligently watch yourselves, so that you don’t forget the things your eyes have seen and so that they don’t slip from your mind as long as you live. Teach them to your children and your grandchildren.

With whom will you compare God? What likeness will you set up for comparison with him?

Claiming to be wise, they became foolsand exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles.Therefore God delivered them over in the desires of their hearts to sexual impurity, so that their bodies were degraded among themselves.
