耶和華的靈必住在他身上，使他有聰明和智慧、謀略和能力，能認識並敬畏耶和華。

因為但以理有非凡的心智，遠超過其他總長和總督，王便考慮讓他治理全國。

我必應允你，賜給你空前絕後的智慧和悟性。

一切智慧和知識都蘊藏在祂裡面。

上帝所差來的，說的是上帝的話，因為上帝將聖靈無限量地賜給祂。

使徒把手按在他們身上，他們就領受了聖靈。西門看見使徒把手一按在人身上，就有聖靈賜下來，便拿錢給使徒，說：「請把這能力也給我吧，以便我把手按在誰身上，就使誰領受聖靈。」

大家將這七個人帶到使徒面前。使徒把手按在他們身上，為他們禱告。

他們回答約書亞說：「凡你命令我們的，我們一定遵行。無論你派我們去哪裡，我們一定去。我們在一切的事上怎樣服從摩西，也必照樣服從你，願你的上帝耶和華與你同在，像與摩西同在一樣。任何人違抗你的命令，不照你的吩咐去做，都要被處死。你要剛強勇敢！」

耶利哥的先知們從遠處看見他，就說：「以利亞的靈降在以利沙身上了。」他們就上前迎接，俯伏在他面前，

我要在那裡降臨，對你說話，把降在你身上的靈也賜給他們，讓他們為你分擔管理民眾的責任，免得你獨自承擔。

為人行按手禮，不要操之過急。不要沾染別人的罪，要潔身自好。

求你賜我智慧治理你的子民，並能辨別是非；不然，我又怎能治理你這眾多的子民呢？」

用我的靈充滿他，使他有聰明智慧，精於各種技能和手藝，

耶和華對摩西說：「嫩的兒子約書亞心裡有聖靈，你把他召來，按手在他身上，讓他站在以利亞撒祭司和全體會眾面前，當著他們的面任命他做首領，把你的權柄賜給他，使以色列全體會眾都聽從他。遇到事情，他要去以利亞撒祭司那裡，讓祭司藉著烏陵為他求問我。他和全體會眾或進或出都要聽從以利亞撒的指示。」摩西遵命而行，把約書亞召來，讓他站在以利亞撒祭司和全體會眾面前，然後照耶和華的吩咐按手在他的頭上，任命他做首領。

到對岸後，以利亞對以利沙說：「在我被接走之前，你要我為你做什麼？」以利沙說：「請將你的靈加倍地給我。」

不要忽略你的恩賜，那是藉著預言在眾長老把手按在你身上時賜給你的。
