About Gad he said:“ Blessed is he who enlarges Gad’s domain! Gad lives there like a lion, tearing at arm or head.

Here’s what Moses said about Gad.“ May the God who gives Gad more land be praised! Gad lives there like a lion that tears off arms and heads.

And of Gad he said,“ Blessed be he who enlarges Gad! Gad crouches like a lion; he tears off arm and scalp.

Moses said this about the tribe of Gad:“ Blessed is the one who enlarges Gad’s territory! Gad is poised there like a lion to tear off an arm or a head.

He said about Gad: The one who enlarges Gad’s territory will be blessed. He lies down like a lion and tears off an arm or even a head.

Of Gad he said,“ Blessed is the one who enlarges Gad; He lies down as a lion, And tears the arm, also the crown of the head.

And of Gad he said:“ Blessed is he who enlarges Gad; He dwells as a lion, And tears the arm and the crown of his head.

And of Gad he said, Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad: He dwelleth as a lioness, And teareth the arm, yea, the crown of the head.

He said about Gad: The one who enlarges Gad’s territory will be blessed. He lies down like a lion and tears off an arm or even a head.

“ Gad will be attacked by a band of raiders, but he will attack them at their heels. (niv)

The other half of Manasseh, the Reubenites and the Gadites had received the inheritance that Moses had given them east of the Jordan, as he, the servant of the Lord, had assigned it to them. (niv)

You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way. (niv)

and all the towns of Sihon king of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon, out to the border of the Ammonites. (niv)

This is what Moses had given to the tribe of Gad, according to its clans:The territory of Jazer, all the towns of Gilead and half the Ammonite country as far as Aroer, near Rabbah;and from Heshbon to Ramath Mizpah and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the territory of Debir;and in the valley, Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah, Sukkoth and Zaphon with the rest of the realm of Sihon king of Heshbon( the east side of the Jordan, the territory up to the end of the Sea of Galilee).These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the Gadites, according to their clans. The remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep, which mauls and mangles as it goes, and no one can rescue. (niv)

and from east of the Jordan, from Reuben, Gad and the half- tribe of Manasseh, armed with every type of weapon— 120,000.All these were fighting men who volunteered to serve in the ranks. They came to Hebron fully determined to make David king over all Israel. All the rest of the Israelites were also of one mind to make David king. (niv)

He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me. (niv)

Some Gadites defected to David at his stronghold in the wilderness. They were brave warriors, ready for battle and able to handle the shield and spear. Their faces were the faces of lions, and they were as swift as gazelles in the mountains.Ezer was the chief, Obadiah the second in command, Eliab the third,Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,Jeremiah the tenth and Makbannai the eleventh.These Gadites were army commanders; the least was a match for a hundred, and the greatest for a thousand. The Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh had 44,760 men ready for military service— able-bodied men who could handle shield and sword, who could use a bow, and who were trained for battle.They waged war against the Hagrites, Jetur, Naphish and Nodab.They were helped in fighting them, and God delivered the Hagrites and all their allies into their hands, because they cried out to him during the battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted in him.They seized the livestock of the Hagrites— fifty thousand camels, two hundred fifty thousand sheep and two thousand donkeys. They also took one hundred thousand people captive, (niv)
