「這摩西就是有人曾棄絕他說『誰立你作我們的領袖和審判官』的，上帝卻藉那在荊棘中顯現的天使的手差派他作領袖，作解救者。

耶和華的使者在荊棘的火焰中向他顯現。摩西觀看，看哪，荊棘在火中焚燒，卻沒有燒燬。摩西說：「我要轉過去看這大異象，這荊棘為何沒有燒燬呢？」耶和華見摩西轉過去看，上帝就從荊棘裏呼叫他說：「摩西！摩西！」他說：「我在這裏。」

地和其中所充滿的，世界和住在其中的，都屬耶和華。

論到死人復活，你們沒有念過摩西書中《荊棘篇》上所記載的嗎？上帝對摩西說：『我是亞伯拉罕的上帝，以撒的上帝，雅各的上帝。』

他們為約瑟單獨擺了一席，為那些人又擺了一席，也為和約瑟同吃飯的埃及人另擺了一席，因為埃及人不和希伯來人一同吃飯；那是埃及人所厭惡的。

「在至高之處榮耀歸與上帝！在地上平安歸與他所喜悅的人！」

天屬你，地也屬你；世界和其中所充滿的都為你所建立。

若有人對你們說：「這是獻過祭的物」，那麼為了那告訴你們的人，並為了良心的緣故就不吃。

「從但那裏傳來敵人的馬噴氣的聲音，壯馬發出嘶聲，全地就都震動；因為他們來吞滅這地和其上所有的，吞滅這城與其中的居民。

你們要趕緊上到我父親那裏，對他說：『你兒子約瑟這樣說：上帝已立我作全埃及之主，請你下到我這裏來，不要躭擱。你和你的兒子孫子，羊羣牛羣，以及一切所有的，都可以住在歌珊地，與我相近。我要在那裏奉養你，因為還有五年的饑荒，免得你和你的家屬，以及一切所有的，都陷入窮困中。』

這樣一位聖潔、無邪惡、無玷污、遠離罪人、高過諸天的大祭司，對我們是最合適的；

那時，有些米甸的商人從那裏經過，就把約瑟從坑裏拉上來。他們以二十塊銀子把約瑟賣給以實瑪利人，他們就把約瑟帶到埃及去了。

「我若是飢餓，不用告訴你，因為世界和其中所充滿的都是我的。

又恐怕我因所得的啟示太高深，就過於高抬自己，所以有一根刺加在我身上，就是撒但的差役來折磨我，免得我過於高抬自己。為了這事，我曾三次求主使這根刺離開我。他對我說：「我的恩典是夠你用的，因為我的能力是在人的軟弱上顯得完全。」所以，我更喜歡誇耀自己的軟弱，好使基督的能力覆庇我。為基督的緣故，我以軟弱、凌辱、艱難、迫害、困苦為可喜樂的事；因為我甚麼時候軟弱，甚麼時候就剛強了。

約瑟在他埃及主人的家中，耶和華與他同在，他是一個通達的人。他主人見耶和華與他同在，又見耶和華使他手裏所辦的事都順利，

你父親的福勝過我祖先的福，直到永世山嶺的極限。這些福必降在約瑟的頭上，臨到那與兄弟有分別之人的頭頂上。

「過了四十年，在西奈山的曠野，有一位天使在荊棘的火焰中向摩西顯現。摩西見了那異象，覺得很驚訝，正往前觀看的時候，有主的聲音說：『我是你列祖的上帝，就是亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的上帝。』摩西戰戰兢兢，不敢觀看。主對他說：『把你腳上的鞋脫下來，因為你所站的地方是聖地。

「因為地和其中所充滿的都屬於主」。

米甸人把約瑟賣到埃及，給法老的官員，就是護衛長波提乏。
