神啊，你在古時，我們列祖的日子所行的事，我們親耳聽見了；我們的列祖也給我們述說過。

我追想古時之日，上古之年。我想起我夜間的歌曲，捫心自問；我心裏也仔細省察。

「你且考察在你以前的世代，自神造人在世以來，從天這邊到天那邊，曾有何民聽見神在火中說話的聲音，像你聽見還能存活呢？這樣的大事何曾有、何曾聽見呢？

那時，他們想起古時的日子－摩西和他百姓，說：將百姓和牧養他全羣的人從海裏領上來的在哪裏呢？將他的聖靈降在他們中間的在哪裏呢？

你們要追念上古的事。因為我是神，並無別神；我是神，再沒有能比我的。

日後，你的兒子問你說：『這是甚麼意思？』你就說：『耶和華用大能的手將我們從埃及為奴之家領出來。

耶和華啊，我記念你從古以來的典章，就得了安慰。

我要提說耶和華所行的；我要記念你古時的奇事。我也要思想你的經營，默念你的作為。

難道他的慈愛永遠窮盡，他的應許世世廢棄嗎？

他心裏說：我必不動搖，世世代代不遭災難。
