上帝啊，我們親耳聽過祖先講述你在古時，在我們祖先時代的作為。

我回想從前的日子，那久遠的歲月，想起自己夜間所唱的歌。我沉思默想，捫心自問：

「你們可以查考歷史，自上帝創造世人以來，這樣的奇事，天地之間何曾有過？誰曾聽聞？

後來，他們想起古時候，想起了摩西和他的百姓，便問，帶領百姓及其牧者摩西從海裡出來的那位在哪裡？將自己的聖靈降在他們中間的那位在哪裡？

你們要記住古時發生的事，因為我是獨一無二的上帝，再沒有誰能與我相比。

基甸說：「我主啊，如果耶和華與我們同在，我們怎會有這些遭遇？我們的祖先曾告訴我們有關耶和華帶領他們離開埃及的事，如今祂那些奇妙的作為在哪裡呢？現在祂已經丟棄我們，把我們交在米甸人手裡。」

將來你們的子孫問起這件事的意義，你們就回答，『耶和華曾經用大能的手把我們從受奴役之地——埃及領出來。

耶和華啊，我牢記你古時賜下的法令，你的法令是我的安慰。

耶和華啊，我要回想你的作為，回想你從前所行的奇事。我要默想你所行的一切事，思想你一切大能的作為。

難道祂的慈愛永遠消逝了嗎？祂的應許永遠落空了嗎？

他們自以為可以屹立不倒，世世代代永不遭殃。
