昔在汛野、米利巴迦鐵之處爾曹逆我、不於以色列族前尊我、

因昔在汛野、在迦叠米利巴水、爾曹在以色列人中違逆我、不在其中尊我為聖故、

This is because both of you broke faith with me in the presence of the Israelites at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the Desert of Zin and because you did not uphold my holiness among the Israelites.

You and Aaron disobeyed me in front of the Israelites. It happened at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the Desert of Zin. You did not honor me among the Israelites as the holy God.

because you broke faith with me in the midst of the people of Israel at the waters of Meribah-kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin, and because you did not treat me as holy in the midst of the people of Israel.

For both of you betrayed me with the Israelites at the waters of Meribah at Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin. You failed to demonstrate my holiness to the people of Israel there.

For both of you broke faith with me among the Israelites at the Waters of Meribath-kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin by failing to treat me as holy in their presence.

because you broke faith with Me in the midst of the sons of Israel at the waters of Meribah kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin, because you did not treat Me as holy in the midst of the sons of Israel.

because you trespassed against Me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah Kadesh, in the Wilderness of Zin, because you did not hallow Me in the midst of the children of Israel.

because ye trespassed against me in the midst of the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah of Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.

Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.

for both of you rebelled against me among the Israelites at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the desert of Zin when you did not show me proper respect among the Israelites.

because you trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah of Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because you didn’t uphold my holiness among the children of Israel.

When the community quarreled in the Wilderness of Zin, both of you rebelled against My command to show My holiness in their sight at the waters.” Those were the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin.

Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff, so that a great amount of water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank.But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron,“ Because you did not trust Me to show My holiness in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this assembly into the land I have given them.”These are the waters of Meribah, where the Israelites quarreled with the Lord, and He showed His holiness to them.Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom,“ This is what your brother Israel says,‘ You know all the hardships that have overtaken us.

So Moses said to Aaron,“ This is what the Lord meant when He said: I will show My holiness to those who are near Me, and I will reveal My glory before all the people.” But Aaron remained silent.

For the time has come for judgment to begin with God’s household, and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God?

“ At that time I begged the Lord:Lord God, You have begun to show Your greatness and power to Your servant, for what god is there in heaven or on earth who can perform deeds and mighty acts like Yours?Please let me cross over and see the beautiful land on the other side of the Jordan, that good hill country and Lebanon.“ But the Lord was angry with me on account of you and would not listen to me. The Lord said to me,‘ That’s enough! Do not speak to Me again about this matter.Go to the top of Pisgah and look to the west, north, south, and east, and see it with your own eyes, for you will not cross this Jordan.

“ Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will not enter the land I have given the Israelites, because you both rebelled against My command at the waters of Meribah.

and the prophet cried out to the man of God who had come from Judah,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Because you rebelled against the command of the Lord and did not keep the command that the Lord your God commanded you—but you went back and ate bread and drank water in the place that He said to you,“ Do not eat bread and do not drink water”— your corpse will never reach the grave of your fathers.’”So after he had eaten bread and after he had drunk, the old prophet saddled the donkey for the prophet he had brought back.When he left, a lion attacked him along the way and killed him. His corpse was thrown on the road, and the donkey was standing beside it; the lion was standing beside the corpse too.There were men passing by who saw the corpse thrown on the road and the lion standing beside it, and they went and spoke about it in the city where the old prophet lived.When the prophet who had brought him back from his way heard about it, he said,“ He is the man of God who disobeyed the command of the Lord. The Lord has given him to the lion, and it has mauled and killed him, according to the word of the Lord that He spoke to him.”

You are to regard only the Lord of Hosts as holy. Only He should be feared; only He should be held in awe.
