The Lord will vindicate his people and relent concerning his servants when he sees their strength is gone and no one is left, slave or free.

The Lord will come to the aid of his people. He’ll show tender love to those who serve him. He will know when their strength is gone. He’ll see that no one at all is left.

For the Lord will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone and there is none remaining, bond or free.

Whenever the LORD raised up a judge for the Israelites, the LORD was with him and saved the people from the power of their enemies while the judge was still alive. The LORD was moved to pity whenever they groaned because of those who were oppressing and afflicting them.

For the LORD saw that the affliction of Israel was very bitter for both slaves and free people. There was no one to help Israel.

This is what the LORD says:‘ I am about to bring disaster on you and will eradicate your descendants: I will wipe out all of Ahab’s males, both slave and free, in Israel;

“ When all these things happen to you— the blessings and curses I have set before you— and you come to your senses while you are in all the nations where the LORD your God has driven you,and you and your children return to the LORD your God and obey him with all your heart and all your soul by doing everything I am commanding you today,then he will restore your fortunes, have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you.

The whole house of Ahab will perish, and I will wipe out all of Ahab’s males, both slave and free, in Israel.

Because of all this, I am about to bring disaster on the house of Jeroboam: I will wipe out all of Jeroboam’s males, both slave and free, in Israel; I will sweep away the house of Jeroboam as one sweeps away dung until it is all gone!

Isn’t Ephraim a precious son to me, a delightful child? Whenever I speak against him, I certainly still think about him. Therefore, my inner being yearns for him; I will truly have compassion on him. This is the LORD’s declaration.

But the Israelites said,“ We have sinned. Deal with us as you see fit; only rescue us today!”So they got rid of the foreign gods among them and worshiped the LORD, and he became weary of Israel’s misery.

The LORD relented concerning this.“ It will not happen,” he said.

Who knows? He may turn and relent and leave a blessing behind him, so you can offer a grain offering and a drink offering to the LORD your God.

For we know the one who has said, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, and again, The Lord will judge his people.

LORD— how long? Turn and have compassion on your servants.

The LORD relented concerning this.“ This will not happen either,” said the Lord GOD.

The LORD judges the peoples; vindicate me, LORD, according to my righteousness and my integrity.
